Lea’s POV

We were shopping for items we might need for the whole three days while taking care of Jay’s siblings. Jay was also helping us – it wasn’t just gonna be the boys and me. I grabbed the cereal box from the shelf and crashed it on the basket. Nathan did the same with the box of biscuits and walked away grabbing more things we were gonna need to take care of them. His siblings were a ten year old, a seven year old and a five year old which are hard to control.

“Why did we agree to taking care of Chloe, Briana and Phoebe?”

Tom pulled Briana’s arm while struggling with Phoebe who was pulling his hair.

“Okay, okay – Phoebe, come over here”

I grabbed Phoebe from his hand and carried her by my shoulder. She pulled my hair and took off my sunglasses.

“Jay! Your sister’s pulling my hair”

“They’re not a big problem”

Jay grabbed Phoebe from me and carried her by his shoulder also pulling his hair.

“Phoebe – you’re bad. Ouch – Phoebe, stop that. Phoebe that’s not funny. Remember Santa can see you”

She stopped pulling his hair and enveloped him in a hug.

“I miss you, Jay”

Phoebe whispered – I think it wasn’t because we can hear it.

“I miss you, too, Phoebe”

We both gave them a soft look until Tom complained about Briana ripping his favorite shirt. We walked towards them and pulled Briana apart from him who had a tight grip around Tom. Nathan pulled her stronger and Siva did the same.

“We might need a crowbar”

Jay looked at Siva who was still prying Briana away from Tom.

“A crowbar can kill my sister”

“I was kidding”

I took a piece of candy from my bag and handed it to Briana. She looked at it and pulled apart from Tom and took it from my hand.

“How can you do that?”

“I’m a girl – and if I’m gonna get married with the boy standing beside Siva on the left, I have to know how to make a child happy”

“Hey – I know how to take care of a kid”

We gave him an awkward look with our eyebrows raised.

“What?”

“You have a lollipop in your bag – why didn’t you give it to Briana or Phoebe?”

We continued walking not hearing a single sound from Chloe – wait a minute – where is Chloe?

“Guys – where’s Chloe?”

Jay looked behind him and looked back at us wide-eyed.

“Oh my God, where’s Chloe? Chloe! Chloe”

His eyes were already watering. I went to the candy aisle and searched for Chloe. I searched through aisles and aisles but nothing. I went out the parking lot and saw Chloe standing in front of a guy pointing at him while yelling something kiddy. I walked towards her and pulled her arm lightly.

“Why are you here in the parking lot? Your brother’s really worried about you”

She looked down at the ground and back at me.

“I’m sorry for making you worry – but isn’t he your ex-boyfriend?”

I looked at the guy she was just yelling at and looked at him surprisingly.

“Chloe – that’s not Logan – that’s Skandar Keynes”

She gave me a confused look and looked back to Skandar.

“I’m sorry – my little sister must’ve run away from us while we were picking up some cereal for them”

“No. Its okay – we’re used to my cousins running around the lot and yelling at us. I guess you know me and I know you – you’re Lea Parker, right?”

“Not anymore – it’s Lea Collins”

He gave me a confused look until Nathan came running towards him. He gave Liam a smile and put his arm around my shoulder.

“Nice to see you again, man – it’s been a while”

“I know, Nate – look at you – so this is your girl?”

“Yeah – oh we’re only taking care of Jay’s little sister. Anyways – I’ll see you around. The boys are waiting inside”

Skandar gave him a wave before turning around and going inside his car. I walked away while holding Chloe’s hand. She looked up at me and looked back down. Nathan gave her a warm smile before putting on his sunglasses and putting his hoodie up. There was a strange feeling running towards me. I didn’t feel safe while I was out of Abbeydale or when the boys and Des wouldn’t be around.

Chloe pulled the hem of my shirt while holding her purse on her shoulder.

“Lea, I’m hungry”

Briana, Chloe and Phoebe were sitting beside us on the fountain eating the candy Jay bought them. We were at the park. Actually – I was the only one watching the girls. The boys were signing autographs. And later they have a rehearsal. I looked at my watch and scanned the time:

‘6 pm’

I looked back at the girls and remembered the time of their rehearsal.

“Boys – you’re late for your rehearsal”

Tom looked at his watch and ran towards me. They all did the same and ran to the van.

“Lea, c’mon – we’re taking you to Jay’s house – take care of the girls for him, okay?”

I took Briana and Phoebe’s hand and put them inside the van. Chloe ran inside and moved to the left letting me sit down beside her.

“Why are the boys always busy?”

Jay looked towards us and gave the girls a smile.

“We’re in a band – that’s why we’re always busy. Don’t worry – we’ll be able to see each other most of the time in Christmas”

“You always say that”

Phoebe crossed her arms and looked away from him. My jaw dropped from what she said.

“Did that five-year-old just said ‘You always say that’?”

They all nodded and stopped the car to let all of us out.
