Lea’s POV

I brushed my morning hair lightly making sure I detangled all the tangles. The boys stormed inside racing each other to the bed.

“Morning, boys”

“Morning, Lea”

Nathan sat down beside me on the bed and took the hairbrush from my hand.

“So Lea, it’s only a week until you leave for college. What are you gonna do?”

I clicked my tongue and bit my bottom lip.

“Thanks for counting down Jay, it really made time slower – but I always start worrying when days get closer. So, I’ll countdown but don’t remind me how many days I still have to spend with all of you”

They all gave me a hug making all of us crash on the bed.

“Guys – I can’t breathe”

They stood up one by one leaving Nathan sitting beside me.

“I’m gonna miss that group hug. Anyways – Max, your girlfriend’s looking for you”

He ran outside and into Paige and Caylah’s room.

My wet hair was tied in a messy ponytail. My face was free from make-up. Someone knocked on the door making me stand up from the position I was sitting. Tom sat me back down and handed me a knife which he hid behind me. He opened the door revealing Jacque and taking off a weight from my shoulder.

“Oh, God – Hi Jacque, we really thought it was someone else”

“Who do you expect? A killer”

“Hopefully”

Jay sat down beside Nathan and passed a note in his hand.

“Hi Lea”

She enveloped me in a hug while rubbing my back softly. There was a strange feeling when the hug lasted – I felt uncomfortable. Caylah had an awkward look plastered on her face.

“Max, I’ll be upstairs if you need me”

Paige had the same face plastered on her. I pulled away from the hug and went to the kitchen to get her a glass of water. Jay went inside the kitchen and locked the door. I looked at him awkwardly and sat down on the counter.

“Jay, what’s going on back there?”

He looked at me and grabbed a bottle from the fridge.

“There’s really something wrong with Jacque. If you have been noticing that”

“No. I haven’t”

“You should know. She’s always here – always calling. Last night she called and asked us if a guy has passed by. Why did she even say that? We’re the only guys in this house”

I pulled off the rubber band from my hair letting it fall in front of my shoulders.

“Why didn’t Nathan tell me?”

“He thought you’ve been noticing that”

Nathan was glancing at me while I was sitting apart from him. Okay – I was sitting beside Jacque and Caylah. My phone vibrated from my pocket appearing a text from an unknown number saying:

‘This is it – you only have ten days left till you die. Make sure you say goodbye’

I threw my phone on the wall catching everyone’s attention.

“Lea – what’s wrong?”

Nathan walked towards me before I stood up and ran to my room, locking the door and crashing on my bed. Someone pounded on my door breaking the silence in my room – I just ignored it and screamed on my pillow.

“Eleanor Collins, get out of that room”

“Stop calling me Eleanor”

“Well – we like your name Eleanor. It’s kind’a like Eleanor Jane Calder”

My blood was already boiling. These boys are really making me mad.

“I’m not Louis Tomlinson’s girlfriend”

I sat down on the couch and plugged in my earphones listening to ‘Look after you’. Nathan and Jay were playing Super Pokémon Rumble. Max and Tom were in the kitchen talking about something. Siva and Paige were doing the laundry. Caylah was just sitting on the couch watching TV. Jacque was sitting beside me reading a magazine.

The phone rang from the kitchen catching everyone’s attention.

“Siva-squatch, its Nareesha”

Siva ran out the basement and into the kitchen nearly falling while rushing to the living room.

“Timber!!!”

Nathan yelled and went back to his game.

The house remained quiet except for the noise of laughter down the basement. We all were just focused on our phones, our iPod, or our laptop. There was really something wrong with Jacque. Actually – there wasn’t anything wrong with her. It’s just that – we’ve been mortal enemies and now we’re best friends.

Jacque handed me a magazine and pointed at a page.

“You modeled for Teen Vogue?”

I nodded and tossed the magazine over the other side of the room. When she showed the magazine – it reminded me of Lilly and Carly – f*ck that modeling company.

“Why did you throw the magazine across the room?”

“I quit modeling”

She sat back down and looked at me.

“Lea – I have something to tell you. I’m sorry about bullying back in middle school also I’m sorry for believing those rumors”

“It’s okay – I let go of the past long ago. It contained so much painful memories. The school dance – my bulimia – everything”

“I get it. But if you forgive me – Thank You Lea Parker”

How did she know I was a Parker? Well – I was a Parker but Tom gave me back to Des and I was back on being a Collins.

“How’d you know I was a Parker?”

“I read magazines. I have to stay connected with everything, right?”

I gave her a smile and looked back to my laptop.

There were things I was thankful of while living with Tom. They weren’t anything special but I wish I could enjoy everything that happened to me and Tom. I also wish that somehow I could turn back the time and play the memories over and over again.

If the world was reversible – it wouldn’t be hard not to forget about memories that happened.
