Lea’s POV

Chloe sat down beside me on the couch while reading a book. Her brown hair was tied in a neat ponytail. I looked at her softly and smiled.

“Lea – do you think Jay was telling me the truth about seeing him more often in Christmas?”

“Of course – he’s your brother. You should trust him. Anyways – don’t you have a nanny?”

She shook her head and lifted it up to look at me.

“Jay’s too busy to hire one and most of all the annoying part is that he left when Phoebe was only two years old and I was seven”

“It’s like that love – my dad left me with a critical step-mom all alone when I was nine”

“I thought our moms have to be good to us”

“Right – but not all moms are good. C’mon – let’s go give your sisters a bath. It’s already past your bedtime”

I brushed Phoebe’s locks softly and tied it in a fishtail-braid. She stood up to face me and enveloped me in a hug.

“Will you take care of us everytime Jay’s gone?”

“I can’t Phoebe. I’m leaving for college in two weeks – besides Tom will be home in three days, right?”

She nodded and laid flat on her bed, she turned to face me while hugging her stuffed toy.

“We like Tom taking care of us but the way you take care of us is different than his way. I like yours better”

“Phoebe – I would love to take care of you and your sisters but if I wasn’t leaving for college I would take the job of becoming your nanny. Okay – its pass your bedtime – go to sleep”

She closed her eyes before I went out the door and turned off the lights. I turned around and saw Nathan standing behind me.

“Were you serious about the ‘becoming-their-nanny’ part?”

“Maybe – but it’s a bit disappointing seeing them cry when Jay leaves. Also – I can’t believe they said she likes my way of taking care of them than she does on Tom”

“Tom has skills on taking care of children but yours is different. You treat them like they’re your sisters”

I shrugged. Was I really that great on taking care of children? I wanted to take care of them for a long time but why did I have to leave for college? I loved these kids.

The boys were sitting around the table while we were waiting for Chloe or Briana or Phoebe to go down the stairs to join us for breakfast.

“I’ll go check on the girls”

Jay held my arm.

“What’s wrong Jay?”

“Lea, sit down and let me do it”

I sat back down and looked at him awkwardly while he was climbing up the stairs.

“What’s wrong with Jay? Did I do something wrong?”

Nathan shook his head and put his knife down on his plate.

“Jay and Thalia had a misunderstanding”

“What kind of misunderstanding? Explain to me properly – what’s going on?”

“To make it easier they had a small argument but they didn’t break up – it was nothing”

I shook my head and looked back at the stairs. I didn’t like the idea of them having a misunderstanding but I can see the boys didn’t like it either. Thoughts came running in my head. What were they arguing about? Did Jay do something wrong?

“If you might be wondering about what they argued about is that it’s anonymous. No one knows what they argued about. There was no reason but I know sometime they’ll to each other again”

By Max’s words I became more curious. Phoebe raced downstairs and straight to me.

“Phoebe seems to like you”

She looked at Nathan and sat down one the chair beside me. I handed her a plate and put a pancake on it.

“Lea – are you sure you can’t take care of us?”

Nathan spilled the juice in his mouth and rushed to the bathroom.

“God – Nathan, learn how to spit in the proper place. I can’t Phoebe – someday I have to leave for college and somehow you might not see me when I graduate for college, even”

A frown formed on her face. I enveloped her in a hug and stood up from my seat.

“Just wait for Tom later – he called and told us he was coming home early”

She stood up and ran outside. There wasn’t anything that can stop a little girl from her rebellion. But this is not yet rebellion – also I doubt that she will be rebellious. From the start of her childhood her parents are too busy for her – Jay doesn’t spend time with her too much – this was a signal of rebellion. This was the reason why almost all teenagers were being rebellious to their parents.

Many people think it’s not a big deal to be ignored or to be alone. Some people feel great being alone but children in Phoebe’s age aren’t worth ignoring neither even being alone. His siblings are left alone with no one but his twin brother.

Someone knocked on the door flashing me back to reality. I stood up and opened the door letting Tom inside carrying Phoebe in his arms.

“Hi, boys – hi love – where’s Jay?”

“Hi Tom – Jay’s upstairs, he’s still having trouble waking up Briana and Chloe and it looks like Phoebe came running to you when she came out the house”

“I guess she’s still going through the thought about Jay leaving later huh?”

They all nodded and went back to eating.

“What’s your name?”

I gave him a smile and he crashed on the couch after releasing Phoebe who was running around the living room.

“Lea”

“Oh Lea – you’re Lea Parker, right? Tom’s little sister”

“Yeah – thanks for saying that”

Chloe and Briana ran down the stairs and straight to Siva and Max.

“Hmm, they seem to like him. Are you dating one of the boys or did you come with your brother when they came to visit the girls?”

“Let me say ‘Both’”

“Oh”

I nodded and looked at Nathan who was looking at us wide-eyed.

“Who are you dating? I mean – it’s a bit awkward that I don’t know but I have been too busy to read magazines which contains facts about the boys”

Nathan sat down beside me and put his hand around my waist.

“I see – its Nathan”
