We were now backstage at the Andrew Marr show. I was talking some things over with Mum when one of the producers came in.

"Home Secretary, two minutes till I take you through." Mum nodded briefly looking away then looked back to me.

"I bet the PM pulled out because he knew you'd do a much better job." Rob stated. I stopped talking and we both looked at him

"Sound like a reason not to pull out." Chanel finally came in with our coffee order. she tripped and Mums coffee went all over her. Mum let out a little yelp as we all jumped.

"Shit." Chanel muttered as Mum tried to dry off.

"Shut up." Rob sneered at the other woman. "Give her your blouse."

"It'll never fit." Chanel replied

Damn it."

"Give her yours then the dark haired woman snickered

"I don't wear blouses." Rob snipped

"Mum, you can have mine." I told her, ready to undo the blouse i had with the pencil skirt.

"Then what will you wear."

"Ms, you can have my shirt."

"You've got to be kidding?" Rob asked incredulously

"My shirts are altered to fit over my ballistic vest, you can wear your daughters and since she won't be on camera she can wear mine." I looked at Mum.

"Sounds as good as any." I shrugged

"Well don't all stand around gawping, you fuck of and find Sargent Budd a new shirt." she snipped at Chanel. She left and Rob was looking at Mum.

"Rob, privacy." he looked at me then nodded leaving. I turned around and took my blouse off handing it to my Mum then replaced it with Sargent Budd's shirt. I looked back to the man who was fixing in his ear piece. Mum nudged my arm, I looked at her and she was smirking at me.

I watched as Mum did the interview, I smiled softly as she remained calm, collected and firm. not once did she stutter like any other. However when she said the line about not apologising for the past my smile faltered and turned into a frown.

"Everything, okay?" Budd asked me, he must have noticed my change in mood.

"Yes, fine." I cleared my throat "I'm going back to the green room. Come and get me when we're leaving." I walked off.

Once Mum was finished, we left. I stared out of the window as we drove through the streets of London.

"Mia, is everything alright, you're very quiet."

"Fine." I muttered

"Mia, I'm your mother, I know when something is wrong with you." I sighed

"Did you really have to say about not apologising. I want this country, my home protected as much as the next person, but you know what that comment means to people like me." her face dropped slightly as she realised the repercussion of her comment.
