I strutted into the Prime ministers office, thanks to Dad he had gotten me an appointment. He owes me.
"Mrs Montague-Jones welcome. Please sit."
"Thank you."
"Can i just say I am deeply sorry for your loss." he commented as he sat down across from me.
"Oh, no your not. My mother had your balls in a vice grip and now I do too." I smirked, he shifted uncomfortably.
"i don't know what you mean."
"I must admit, if I didn't know what I knew, I would be convinced but, hey ho. You are going to resign." he laughed
"Excuse me?"
"You're stepping down, tonight. It's not a request it's a statement,." I pulled out a few pieces of paper from my bag.
"My new article this is going live everywhere with your sordid past, proving you unfit and untrustworthy to lead our country. Now some of it is redacted to protect incepts like Ms Foxfeild. but you're still screwed." his face dropped
"You can't do this."
"I can, and I did. I'm finishing what my mother started, giving things a kick start to be freshens up from corruption and shit people like yourself. Don't worry though, you're not the only one I'm bringing down, to be honest I know I've trained for criminal justice but i think I might have a Possible career in journalism." he looked through the article.
"Don't look so glum chum. It's the dawn of a new era." I snatched the article back and slipped it into my back.
"Have a fantastic evening." I left

David had taken the first step into getting help, he also came with me for my check up, everything was fine.
"Can we tell the kids?" he asked me as he was driving towards the safe house.
"You want to, isn't it a bit soon?" I replied
"Maybe, but i want to introduce you too them, if that's okay with you." I nodded
"If that's okay with Vicky, it's okay with me. What am i? What are you going to introduce me as." we had had this conversation, in fact nothing about our relationship is normal.
"Well, I was thinking...my girlfriend. We are serious, we've literally been to hell and back and, I want to be with you for the long run."
"Do Ella and Charlie understand that you're not with Vicky." he nodded
"We explained to them when we first separated."
"Okay as long as you warn her before hand."
"I will." half an hour later we pulled up outside the safe house. He got out of the car as did I but I made no move to go to the door. he knocked and Vicky opened. She greeted him then saw me. I gave a small wave which she returned and he went inside. Five minutes laterDavid came out with Ella and cHARLIE.
"Ella, Charlie, there is someone I'd like you to meet. This is Mia." I smiled softly at them
"Hello." i waved crouching to their level.
"I've seen you on TV." Charlie commented I laughed
"Yeah, you would have."
"Are you a celebrity?" Ella wondered.
"Not quite. My Mum and Dad are famous politicians , they are the people that make up the rules we have to follow and the big people that keep help keep us safe ." I explained as best as I could to them, David had already told me that they were very smart so it was kind of easy.
"That sounds boring." Charlie added. I chuckled.
"Yeah, it kind of is. But they try to help. Now I was wondering if it would be okay with you if i could spend the day with the two of you and your dad, of course."
"What are we going to do." I looked up at David who was smiling.
"Well I was thinking...ice cream." the cheered. I stood up. David helped them into the car and Vicky touched my arm.
"You're good for him. I'm glad he has you." she told me
"Thank you. And thank you for being okay with this. i know it's a bit weird, but you're handling it really well."
"He deserves to be happy."
"So do you." i replied, giving her a soft smile.
"You ready?" David asked and I nodded. I got into the passenger side.
"Wanna give a wave to your mum?" I asked Charlie and Ella. they did and Vicky waved back. We drove away from the safe house.
--------
We were sat having ice cream parlour and talking the kids were very accepting, asking David and I questions. We were laughing and messing around. a message popped up on my phone.
"Who's that?" Ella wondered. Looking at a picture of me and my Mum.
"My Mum." I cleared my throat.
"Is she cool?" Charlie questioned
"She was, but yeah she's not here anymore." I gave a tight smile. They decided to to ask any further which i was grateful for the moment since it was still obviously raw and a recent thing. I now had to focus on my future and preparing my life after the past month and focusing on my future child with David.
-Months Later-
Little screams filled the delivery room, as I breathed heavily after giving birth to my first child. A little girl was announced to David, who stood loyally by my side guiding me through the whole thing. This 7 pounds and 8 ounces of joy came into a unconventional relationship but a loving one none the less. I was handed our bundle of joy as they opened and closed their eyes to the bright lights of the new world they were in. I glanced up at David who even this being his third child made it no less important. Tears wept from his eyes. I turned my attention back to our daughter.
"Look at you, your beautiful." I breathed stroking her cheek. Once I was cleaned up and everyone was gone leaving just the three of us, David sat at my bedside after ringing to tell Ella and Charlie.
"What are we going to call her?" I wondered glancing at my boyfriend
"How about we name her a variation after your Mum. Like...Juliet?" he offered and I smiled both sadly and fondly, it had only been ten months since i had lost my mother and she missed a lot in those ten months. Something felt right about the name
"Okay, Juliet Budd. Welcome to the world." I handed her over to her father as she squirmed about a bit but then settled in his arms.
