Life is one constant test. Only you have the choice to pass or fail at it. But sometimes it's really hard, things happen that questions everything. He enters my life and my life becomes an out of control rollercoaster. He can't help what happens, I...
Things were about to go from bad to worse. Louise Rayburn received a update about Andrew Apsted and we she looked closer the truth about the connection between him and David was there. Rayburn went to share this development.
"Boss, we've completed cross checks on everyone Andrew Apsted served alongside in the Army. Apsted was posted to the Helmand Province with 16 Engineer Regiment in 2009. Now there were a number of operations carried out alongside the Albion regiment, and serving in the Royal Albion at that time was...David Budd."
"Shit!" Sharma cursed
"Yeah, yeah it get's worse. Budd went back to the Montague's house and broke in via the back entrance that's unguarded. I mean he's got the keys, he must have secretly got them cut when he was their PPO, which is suspicious in itself. He was only on the premises for one or two minutes, which means he knew exactly what he was looking for."
"Yeah, the compro-mat."
"You were right boss, there has been an inside man all along. the fucker has played me since day one."
"He played us all. But we're going to be the one's to bring him in."

In a barley lit room David had woken up from the night before. But when he did he noticed he was strapped up in a sucicde vest. He breathed nervously, taking it what was going on and where he was. He needed help. David left the room and grabbed a piece of tarp to cover up what was going on.
-Mia-
There was a knock on my door, it must be David. I went to answer it but it wasn't him.
"DCI Sharma? What are you doing here?"
"Mia, may I come in." I nodded
"you'll have to be quick, I have a check up in half an hour, my ride should be here soon." I went to grab my coat and scarf.
"I'll try not to keep you. When we last questioned you, you said you had met Andrew Apsted at a charity event. Is that the only time you've heard the name." he wondered. I turned around to face him.
"Yes, why?" i feigned confusion.
"Your affair with PS Budd started when?"
"The night of the shooting."
"Did he mention Apsted at any point in your time together." Oh double shit, they knew, they knew and Sharma was trying to gauge what I knew.
"No, wait are you suggesting that they knew each other? That's impossible, surly he would have said something."
"You are aware lying to a officer and be considered as a offence." he stated
"DCI Sharma, I am aware you are trying to do your job here and I am aware, or did you not read my file that I was a criminal barrister before my husband died. If you want the answers you seek, get to the point, because tiptoeing around this won't help. Why don't I ask myself for you. 'Mia in the time you were fucking your bodyguard did the subject of the person who tried to kill the both of you, come up in pillow talk.' 'No DCI Sharma it didn't' There that wasn't so hard." he gritted his teeth.
"Mia this is very serious."
"Again with the obvious tiptoeing. I know it's serious, my mother is dead, I was almost killed. It is taking everything I have not to have some breakdown with all the information that I'm getting or is being implied."
"PS Budd, has lied to all of us and our priority is to bring him in to custody." I folded my arms.
"David, is not the criminal here, he's doing your job of trying to find out who killed my mother, all while being second guessed by those who should have his back"
"Mia, you might want to cancel that appointment, I need you to accompany me back to help with our inquiries."

We arrived at the police station and I was taken to a waiting room, where there was one other person. not just any person. Vicky.
"Oh." was the first thing I said "This is awkward." I muttered
"You're the Home Secretary's daughter." she stood up from where she was sitting.
"Please, call me Mia or Mrs Jones, you know whichever you prefer." I sat down, I grabbed my phone and checked it, there was still nothing from David.
"Have you heard anything from him?" i asked her
"Dave?" I nodded
"Not since he came to see me at work the other day. Congratulations by the way." she replied
"What?"
"The baby, David told me, he told me about the two of you, though he was a little late, some other guy already implied it. Then he got worried."
"Long cross, yeah. He bugged my room which is how it's all managing to come out that I slept with my PPO and now I'm pregnant. Way to go huh?" I looked down
"He'll be a good Dad. And I can see he really cares for you."
"Thank you and thank you for not making this even more awkward." she gave me a soft smile.
"They have me worried, they think he has something to do with, everything that has been going on."
"I know, it's worrying me too, what's even more worrying is that he was supposed to take me to an appointment today, but he never showed, never texted or any..." the door opened it was DS Rayburn
"Ladies, can you come with me please." we followed her out to the car and the left the car park.
"Received, Saltmarsh Street, blue light." Rayburn stated and the siren went off. i looked worryingly at Vicky.
"What's going on?" Vicky asked
"I'm going to need your full cooperation, Vicky and Mia. This could turn into a negotiation."
"Negotiation, what the hell?" I sat forward "David is innocent."
"Mia, please sit back." I did so, this was crazy. A few minutes later we arrived
"Stay in the car." Rayburn told us then got out. She talked with someone else and they were about to come over when I heard David voice.
"I'm cooperating don't shoot." I looked backwards he was walking towards the officers
"Armed police hands in the air."
"Don't shoot!"
"Hands in the air!"
"I can't." he shouted back. i undid my seatbelt to get a better look.
"David do as we say! No one needs to get hurt." A woman's voice told him
"Raise your hands."
"David, please raise your hands!"
"Final warning. Raise your hands." he did so dropping the tarp. I gasped, he was in a suicide vest.
"Clear the area." The driver of our car raced away.
