Mark slowly opened and rubbed his eyes. He felt weird and groggy and as he looked around the room, he realised he didn't really recognise anything.
"What-?" said Mark quietly, noticing the mat he's been laying on and the small apartment he's in. He started to stand up to get a better look at where he was. Was he dreaming?
"Mark! You're awake!!!" Haechan appeared at the doorway to the living room and stared at Mark happily. "I thought you died! I didn't know what to do..."
Mark watched with wide eyes as Haechan ran up to him.
"You fainted because you were scared of the storm! I've never had someone faint in front of me, I didn't know what to do! I didn't know if I had to give you CPR or something! I was so worried..."
"I'm okay now, thank you," Mark smiled and comforted the boy as he looked around the room, "uh, where are we?"
"Oh, I didn't know where to bring you, so I brought you back to my house," Haechan said with a smile.
WAIT THIS IS HAECHANS APARTMENT!??!!?
"You, brought me to your apartment??" Mark asked nervously.
Haechan nodded and smiled. Mark stared at Haechan with a confused expression, before awkwardly smiling at him.
"How did you bring me here!?! Did you carry me here or something!?!"
Haechan nodded again.
"What?! You carried me here?! You're not serious are you?!"
Haechan raised an eyebrow and tilted his head, like a confused puppy. "Why would I not be serious? I carried you home! I'm not a liar Mr Mark!"
"WAIT- YOU REALLY CARRIED ME HERE!?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE KIDDING! HOW THE FUCK DID YOU CARRY ME HERE!?" Mark peered out of the window to see the sky still a dark grey colour, "AND THE STORMS STILL ON! DID YOU RUN OR SOMETHING!? HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN OUT FOR!?"
Mark had so many thoughts running through his head. Did this kid really just pick Mark up and carry him back to his apartment?
Mark turned back to look at Haechan, who was staring at him in shock.
"Hey, are you okay?" said Mark, calming his voice down. He took a step towards Haechan but Haechan took a step backwards, keeping their distance. Mark reached his hand out to Haechan as he stepped forward again but Haechan flinched and turned his head away, closing his eyes.
Does he think I'm gonna hit him?
"Mark, please don't shout at me," said Haechan, his eyes still closed, "I didn't know you'd be mad at me. I'm sorry for bringing you here."
Haechan quickly turned around and ran to the small sofa in the room. Mark slowly made his way over and sat next to him.
"Oh, I'm not mad Haechan, I'm happy!" said Mark.
"Really?" the younger boy looked at Mark sincerely.
"Yep! But I'm just a bit confused, can you explain everything to me?"
"Everything? I don't think I can explain everything, I don't know everything..."
"Nooo, not EVERYTHING! Can you explain what happened after i passed out?"
"Well you passed out in the cave and I got so scared! I thought you had died! But I remembered that some people do faint when they get scared, or nervous, or when they lose a lot of blood! I was so hoping you didn't lose blood!"
Mark watched intently as the sun-kissed boy next to him continued.
"I figured that you had fainted, so I picked you up in my arms and ran out of the cave, onto the rocks and back to the beach. But afterwards, I realised I didn't know where to take you! Did you need the hospital?! I didn't know where you lived so I couldn't take you home!!
"The storm was starting to come in more and I didn't want to make you wet. So I ran really fast to my house. And we made it in before the storm hit!!! Yay!!" Haechan smiled cheerfully at Mark, happy that they weren't caught in the rain.
"You really carried me?? Was I not heavy?"
Haechan shook his head.
"But... how did you get over the rocks so quickly? And back here,,, all while carrying me!?"
Haechan shrugged his shoulders, not wanting to explain anything else.
"Well, thank you very much," said Mark awkwardly, turning away from Haechan.
"Hey! It's okay! I had to protect you from the storm coming in!" Haechan smiled to himself before standing up and walking to the kitchen. "Would you like some water?"
Mark suddenly remembered something else.
"Uh, no thanks. Uh, Haechan??"
"Mhmm??" Haechan called out from the kitchen, which was very close to where Mark was.
"Uhhh, why were your eyes glowing in the cave?"
Haechan let the question hang in the air for a second before walking back over to the sofa.
"What do you mean??" Haechan asked innocently.
"In the cave, your eyes were glowing."
Haechan laughed. "My eyes were glowing? You must have hit your head when you fainted or something." He took a sip of his water. "Normal human eyes don't glow Mark ahaha, you were probably seeing things to scare yourself."
"But, I-," Mark was starting to question what he saw, "uhh, never mind. Thank you anyway for bringing me here. I'll see you around?"
Haechan nodded and waved goodbye to Mark as he left.
~
On the walk home, Mark couldn't help but think strange things about Haechan.
Is that boy a wizard or something?! Or a secret bodybuilder!? How tf did he carry me here!? AND ON TOP OF THAT, IM CERTAIN HIS EYES WERE GLOWING! or... were they?! Uh idk anymore....
