☦︎︎ TAEIL, MEET DONGHYUCK ☦︎︎

* KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK *

Kun and Taeil both lift their heads up and turn to look at the door.

"Guys, have you seen?" says the fellow Second through panting breaths, "there are two new Thirds!"

The Second runs off to spread the news and leaves Taeil and Kun to exchange glances.

"New Thirds?" Taeil says raising his eyebrows. "For what?"

"Well," starts Kun, lying on his bed, "I heard they're bringing in Light and Darkness because Ten is too fucking lazy to keep being "in charge" of it."

Taeil rolls his eyes and looks at Kun, "You don't have to swear when you say it. And anyway, how do you know?!"

Kun sits up and taps his ears, "It's called 'eavesdropping'."

Taeil smiles at his roommate and shakes his head, "I'm surprised they don't punish you for that. They just punish me instead..." His voice trails off at the end.

Kun stands up and stretches, "Well, I'm off."

"Where to?"

"DEFINITELY not to sneak a look at the new thirds," Kun winks. "See ya." He raises his hand as he leaves.

"Be careful!" Taeil shouts.

Taeil always wondered why Kun was the way he was. Rebellious, independent, and very powerful for a Second. It made Taeil jealous. He always stuck to the rules but still got punished, while it felt like Kun never followed the rules and came out with no consequences. Taeil shakes his head to get rid of the bad thoughts about his friend and continued his work.

"Qian Kun you get lost," Doyoung says, scowling at Kun as he walks up to the main First doors.

Kun just ignores him and stands by the door, listening in.

"Came to see the new Thirds? They're not ready yet," says Doyoung smirking at him.

"Do you know when?"

"Pfft, like I'd tell you," Doyoung rolls his eyes.

Kun glares at him.

"Fine. I heard a couple of hours from now."

"How old is he making them?" Kun nonchalantly leans against the wall, trying to listen to the conversation happening inside.

"I think it's 6 or 7. Ten said that's the 'optimum age' for them to learn everything by the time they're grown."

Kun nods and continues listening in.

A few hours go past and Doyoung and Kun can hear exactly what's happening on the other side.

"So they're ready, sir?" asks Xiaojun to Ten.

"This one is," he opens a door in the back to reveal a small lost boy. The boy calmly stands up and looks at Ten in awe.

The other Firsts congratulate Ten on his hard work and compliment him on what a good job he's done.

Ten brings the boy out to meet the Firsts, "This here is Jaemin, he will be the new God of Darkness."

The Firsts exchange looks and clap at his creation.

"Sir, we have a problem," says one of the Firsts who was watching over the other boy.

Ten glares at the First before storming into the other room. There he sees the other boy throwing a tantrum, breaking objects in the room.

"Sir, he seems to be a bit underdeveloped," says the First to Ten, "what should we do?"
