"Haechan!" says Mark, watching Haechan run to the gate. He was running late and Mark was waiting for him. "I was scared you wouldn't turn up."

"Sorry, I overslept."

The two started walking towards their first lecture of the day.

"Where did you go yesterday? I thought me and you were sleeping round Johnny's after the party but when we woke up you weren't there."

"I had to get up early to..."Haechan thought for a moment, "feed my cat!"

"But you don't have a cat..."

"Oh well it's not mine. It's my moms. I had to feed the cat and then clean my moms house."

"Oh, you really had to do that at like 6am??"

Haechan nodded.

"Well, okay then!" Mark answered but thought for a moment.

I couldn't even contact him all day and all this morning,,, he was really just cleaning his moms house???

"Uh,, what's your mom like?" Mark asked, glancing at Haechan who was walking calmly next to him.

"Whats yours like?" Haechan flipped the question on Mark.

"My mom?? She's nice but-," Mark thought about that one flaw his mom had, or in fact, everyone in his family had.

"But what??"

"She, uh-, she doesn't like people like me."

Haechan tilted his head. "Hmm? People like you?"

Mark looked at Haechan, their eyes locking briefly before he looked away again.

"People who are gay..."

"Oh," Haechan noticed the disappointment in Mark's voice and mimicked it. He didn't know what gay meant so he was gonna have to look it up later.

After they had finished their two lectures, Mark and Haechan sat down for lunch together. They were then greeted by Johnny and Jaehyun.

"Hello kids, how are we?" asked Johnny, smiling at the two.

Mark looked at Johnny and squinted his eyes before looking at Haechan. Haechan hadn't even noticed the other two coming over because he was too busy typing on his phone.

"Uh Haechan?" said Mark.

"..."

"Haechan..." Mark reached his hand out and tapped Haechan on his hand, making him jump. "You ok?"

"Ah~ you scared me.."

"You okay tho?"

"Mm," Haechan mumbled and nodded before going back to his phone.

Why is he weird today? Mark thought, glancing over to Jaehyun and Johnny to see if they noticed. They didn't.

Lunch was quiet for them. Haechan hardly said a word apart from looking up every now and again to say "yeah" or something along those lines.

Walking home was even quieter. It was just Mark and Haechan, like always, but it felt like it was just Mark alone. Haechan usually wasn't this quiet to him.

"Haechan?" Mark looked at Haechan, who was just walking beside him. Haechan didn't turn his head to respond, just continued looking ahead.

"Are you really okay?" Mark said with worry in his voice.
