"Mark. Mark. Mark," a voice repeated to Mark as his hearing slowly comes back to him. He opens his eyes and rubs them, trying to get them to focus."Mark, here," a cup is pushed into Mark's hand as he forces himself up, his head hurting from passing out. As his eyes adjust he takes a sip of the water and looks next to him.
"Mark, you fainted. Again." Haechan said staring at Mark, making sure he's okay.
"Yeah," he sits up and adjusts himself, "I know."
"Now do you believe me?" Haechan says, taking the cup from Mark's hands and placing it on his dresser.
"Uh, I guess?"
This wasn't really something easy to understand. Mark didn't get it. How is Haechan a deity? He looks just like a normal person! And how is he a deity if God exists; it didn't make sense to Mark.
But Mark knew what he saw, his eyes did glow. Bright. Dazzling, in fact. Like he was staring directly at the sun. And they were pure white as if his honey-colored irises no longer existed.
Mark had the evidence in front of him, Haechan is...a deity? But, that conflicted so much with everything he's been taught! He didn't know what to think anymore.
"You guess?" Haechan questioned.
"Mm," Mark nodded.
"But I just showed you my eyes!! Doesn't that prove it?!"
"It-, It could just be a cool trick..."
"Mark, please believe me," Haechan grabbed both of Mark's hands and faced him. "I couldn't see you all this time BECAUSE I'm a deity. Please believe me, Mark."
Mark stared back at Haechans longing eyes before breaking the eye contact and thinking.
"But, but- what about God? and Jesus? Don't- don't they,,,"
"Oh," Haechan didn't want to say anything that could offend Mark. "They still apply to your life, Mark. Just because I exist, doesn't mean they can't as well."
"Do you know him?" Mark asked, looking back at Haechan.
"Who?"
"Jesus."
"Why would I know Jesus?!"
"Oh- but you said you were a god."
"Yeah, but why would I know Jesus?! He's a human from years ago, I wouldn't know him. I hardly know all the deities!"
Mark was still not really understanding but tried his best to believe everything Haechan was saying.
"Are you God??" Mark asked sheepishly.
Haechan giggled. "No, I'm not your God Mark, didn't I just say I don't know Jesus? How could I be God if I don't know Jesus?!"
"Oh... I guess that makes sense..."
Mark peered around the room, still trying to comprehend what Haechan was saying.
"You still don't believe me do you?"
"Uh, no no, I do," he lied.
"Look, I can show you something else okay?"
Mark looked back at Haechan and nodded, their hands still together. He could feel Haechans hands get warmer and warmer as the room got dimmer. Haechan giggled at Mark's stunned reaction to the lights going down. Mark felt his heart rate increasing, for some reason he was terrified.
"Woah, what?!" Mark frantically looked around, watching the room turn into total blackness. He squeezed Haechans hands tighter and quickly shut his eyes; he hated the dark.
