"Qian Kun, is that really you?!" Emotions flood Haechan's body as a smile begins to beam across his face.

"In the flesh," Kun grins.

Haechan laughs before throwing himself at his old friend and embracing him. "But, but-, I don't," Haechan stutters, tears beginning to flood his eyes.

Kun chuckles and hugs him tighter, "I'll explain soon." Kun lifts his head and smiles at Mark, who is still standing in the doorway.

"I'll give you some time," says Mark, before leaving the two at the door.

The two pull away from their long embrace, Donghyuck's face mottled and puffy from the crying. Kun smiles gently at him and wipes his tears with his hand. "I don't understand, Kun, how is it possible?"

Haechan invites Kun inside and the two sit in Mark and Haechan's bedroom, away from the other guests. They perch on the edge of the bed before the dog walks in.

"Is this your dog?" Asks Kun inquisitively. The dog walks over and sits just in front of Kun, staring straight into his eyes.

"Yep, his name is Moon," Haechan says with a smile, "it's his birthday today."

Kun looks at Haechan softly before looking back at the dog and patting it gently on the head. "Happy birthday, Moon," he smiles before redirecting a question at Haechan. "So, how is being a human then?"

"Oh Kun, it is wonderful. I am having so much fun, I love it here. Humans are so fascinating and beautiful."

Kun chuckles and continues petting the dog, "you really are similar to Taeil, you know that?"

Haechan smiles warmly before talking, "please, Kun, explain everything to me. What's happened since I left?"

"Well," Kun begins, "do you remember when the Firsts sent you to Earth for the final time? It was one day after your trial."

Donghyuck nods.

"I was listening to that whole trial, and really listening to the fine print. I found a way to get around what they said," he pauses and smiles widely, "I just have to see you here on Earth! Not on our home planet!"

Haechan's eyes widen at the revelation, "no way! Bu- but they said I could never see you or Jaemin again..."

"Ah but you see Donghyuck, they never specified seeing you on Earth. It's not exactly breaking the rules if they never set them," Kun shrugs.

Haechan laughs at Kun's familiar rebellious nature before continuing. "And do they know that you're here?"

"Nope. Not any more than they normally know I'm on Earth. They think I'm just doing my normal duties. Like I said before, they don't know what goes on down here and they've given up monitoring me," Kun stops petting the dog for a second and turns to Donghyuck, "I do have to apologise though, Donghyuck. I'm sorry it has taken many human years to come and see you. We had a lot to do back home and I've actually had to train a Third who got your old role. His name is Jeno, he's good but..." Kun leans into Haechan's ear and whispers, "between you and me, he's got NOTHING on you."

Haechan smiles, "I wasn't that good, Kun."

"You were to me," he smiles, "and Taeil."

They both turn to look at the dog who now lays on the floor at Kun's feet, resting his head gently on the rug.

"It's nice you named him after Taeil," starts Kun, "he would be really proud of you."

"Thank you, Kun," Donghyuck smiles, "I still miss him."

Kun nods slowly in agreement and sighs deeply, "me too, Donghyuck."

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

"Oh, Donghyuck," Kun starts suddenly, "I have a surprise for you."

"A surprise?" Donghyuck raises his eyebrows. "What surprise?"

"Haechan," Mark knocks on the bedroom door three times before opening it, "someone was at the door and they said they knew you and Kun. I've invited them in, they're just out here." Mark opens the door a bit wider, letting the mystery guest in.

Donghyuck whips his head to Kun who smiles cheekily, "surprise~."

At that moment, it was as if time itself had slowed. Turning his head slowly to the door, Donghyuck watches the door creak open in anticipation.

A figure steps inside, with a tall stature and a sense of poise and elegance about them. The figure takes two more slow steps into the room and Donghyuck eagerly rises to his feet, his eyebrows raising and eyes widening as he watches the figure glide gently and gracefully into the room.

His heart begins to race, and as he sees the face of his guest, Donghyuck can't hide his emotions. Sadness, compassion, and love rush through Donghyuck practically sweeping him off his feet. As the two guests lock their eyes, their breathing stops for a split second, entirely in sync just like all those years ago. Then, exhilaration sets in.

The two gaze at one another, their mouths slowly turning up into identical wide grins. From another perspective, you'd have thought Donghyuck was still a Deity, his round eyes almost turning white with passion and his tanned skin practically glowing from the anticipation. His guest mimicked his reaction, except his eyes turned completely black, like two gorgeous black pearls staring at him, and his body emitted a freezing aura which instantly flung the room into coldness.

Then, he spoke.

"DONGHYUCK!"

"JAEMIN!"
