Aren't you forgetting something? {18}

Everything was escalating so quickly. The ball was set to ushijima and you could see in Kei's eyes that he was focused. You could barely watch. Your hand was covering your mouth as you watched the events unfold in front of you. The ball came in contact with Ushijima's hand and you squeezed your eyes shut. You could hear the ball slam down on the court and the whistle blew.

You opened your eyes slowly and the tears that were building up in your eyes spilled over. Kei was able to successfully block ushijimas spike and got a point for the team. You started cheering as loud as you could. Your boyfriend glanced up at you and smiled mouthing an "I love you". You returned the smile and laughed as the boys all tackled him.

"Yachi, that was amazing." You say to her, still stunned about what happened only seconds before. "I know! But it also looks so scary!" She squeals. "I don't know how Tsukishima did that so effortlessly! If it was me my arms probably would have fallen off!" You only chuckled at her.

The game continued on, the point gap remaining small. Each team was racking up points and it was getting rather close. Another ball is set to a member of shiratorizawa, causing Tsukishima to move over to block him (okay I don't remember much of what happened during this match so pls bare with me BDKSNS). You were crossing your fingers for him, hoping he could block it and get the point. "Cmon Kei you got this." You whispered under your breath as the suspense began to build.

It's like it all went in slow motion. The ball was hit a loud smack made on the middle blocker's hand. Not to long after another loud smack was made in Shiratorizawa's side of the gym. The whistle was blown and another point was won for Karasuno. Cheers erupted through the stadium again. You were smiling and cheering for your boyfriend until you saw the team surrounding him. "What happened? Yachi can you see?" You ask her worried. "Uh I think Tsukishima got hurt." She said while trying to get a better view of what was going on.

You looked back over at the group and saw Kiyoko leading Tsukishima out of the gym. "Fuck," you whispered. "I'm gonna go check on him, make sure he's okay." You tell Yachi before running off.

You made your way to the infirmary as fast as you could to make sure your boyfriend was okay. You found it and walked in seeing Kiyoko talking to the nurse while Tsukishima was getting his fingers taped. Kiyoko finished talking to the nurse and noticed you.

"Oh (Y/N)." She greeted. "What happened?" You asked concerned for the middle blockers health. "The spike was really powerful causing a minor hand injury," she explained and you listened. "Now he's just getting his hand fixed." She finished. "Okay Kiyoko thank you so much for getting him here," You say with a smile. "I can take care of him, you go back to the gym and help the team." She nodded and lightly hugged you before walking out of the infirmary back to the gym.

You look over at Tsukishima who had just finished getting his fingers taped. "Thank you." He said softly to the nurse. "Hey." You said walking up to him. Tsukishima only ignore you, staring down at his hand. "You're ignoring me now huh?" You teased grabbing his hand and he looked away from you.

"Can you please look at me?" You said softly grabbing his chin, forcing him to look you in the eyes. "Does it hurt?" You ask him. He nods before speaking up. "I don't care though I just need to get back on the court." He was sweaty and clearly exhausted. "Dont you think a break would be good? You look so tire-" "No (Y/N) I'm fine can you chill?" He snaps, taking you aback a bit. "Okay fine, sorry I was just trying to help." You say pulling your hands away from him.

"Wait I didn't mean to do that." He sighs. "I didn't mean to snap at you like that. It's just if I hadn't gotten hurt I would be out there helping my team win. And you probably think I'm so pathetic for this." He scoffs, laughing dryly to himself. "Okay first of all, I would never think you're pathetic especially for something like this that wasn't your fault." You stated. "And second of all the team is so proud of everything you have done to help so far today." He picks up his head and looks at you.

"I love you and care for you so much and so does every single person on that team. You have to get back out there and show everyone what you're capable of, okay?"

"Thank you midget I love you too." He says pulling you in for a hug. "Did you have to call me a midget right now?" You ask in annoyance and he replied with a laugh. "Let's get you back on that court shall we?" You say pulling away and holding out for him to take.

You guys make your way out of the infirmary hand in hand. "You gonna be okay out there?" You ask him. "Of course, why wouldn't I be?" He asked sarcastically. "Okay okay I was just checking no need to be an asshole." You sigh and he only laughs at you.

You guys made it to the doors of the gym. "Good luck out there idiot." You said teasingly. "Yeah yeah whatever midget." He laughed before walking away. "Ahem! Aren't you forgetting something?" You say loudly causing him to turn around and roll his eyes.

He stood in front of you again. You got on your tiptoes and planted a kiss on his lips. After a few seconds you pulled away and pushed him towards the gym. "Go win this!" You shouted as he ran back onto the court.

You couldn't help but feel proud of him and how far he came as a volleyball player. You smiled to yourself as you walked back up to the stands and watch this game finally end.
