Jayden's POV

I knew something was wrong the moment Logan's black Ford pulled into my driveway. For one Logan never visited not even when we were friends, secondly, the guards let him in without seeking permission.

I knew something was even more wrong when I saw Daisy step out of the car a bright smile on her face. She was without a scratch on her delicate skin, so I was beyond happy so much so that I didn't even care to question what was wrong.

But then it hit me, Roderick's my dad, and I know that he'll never do something like this just for the fun of it.

And so I excused myself from the family hug we currently had going on, and signaled Logan who had been watching our reunion from the sidelines to follow me.

When we got to a corner that wasn't within earshot, I asked Logan the question that had been bothering ever since Daisy stepped out of his car.

"What was the price?" I used past tense because I know my dad, and he'll never carry-out a deal before the payment is delivered. He likes to do them both at the same time.

Logan's reaction was stoic, he seemed like he had been expecting the question. But again, judging by the way his hands were quivering, he doesn't have an answer to it.

His silence was making me scared and a little mad, who knows what Roderick took, at the expense of releasing Daisy.

"Shouldn't you be happy that your little sister is back," he fired back, deliberately avoiding my question.

"Not if it was at the expense of another human being," I returned with as much vigour, glaring at him. I knew my dad, an eye for an eye, in all the ways the adage is allowed to be interpreted. He'll only release a human being, if he's taking another hostage as payment. Logan physically gulped at insinuation, and let's just say that a volcano erupted at the base of my stomach.

"What did he do?" I asked again, my voice raising after each word.

"Please don't be angry with me, I tried to stop her, I really did try to stop her," he rambled, ignoring my question once again.

"I'm getting tired of this bullshit Logan, just tell me what the fuck he did!" I yelled my voice incredibly hoarse, probably from fear and me raising my voice.

"Sam let Roderick take her in exchange for Daisy's freedom," he rushed out in one breath.

And then – and then my whole world came crumbling down.

"she did what?" I whispered and before I could register what I was doing, my fist came down colliding with Logan's jaw. Believe me when I say I have no idea when my fist went up to start with.

Logan stumbled back a little, his hand rubbing his jaw which was already beginning to bruise.

"Why the fuck did you let her do it?" I yelled ignoring the fact that my voice was physically leaving me.

"I told you before, I tried to stop her but she didn't listen. She threatened me into keeping it a secret," he whispered the last part which made me stare at his face. The pained look on his face made me look down immediately, this is affecting him almost as much as it's affecting me but I'll be damned if I let myself go soft on him.

Logan has no idea what that monster can do to her, he has no fucking idea what he's capable of, what he. . . .

And then I broke down, I let all my frustration come out as one very hoarse scream, accompanying it with a kick at some random trash can.

Who fucking said guys can't cry because I'm bloody hell doing that right now.

I felt myself fall to the ground having lost any kind of energy that could have kept me up.
