Sam's POV
"Why did you have to scare us like that," Alisa yells once we were allowed into Cole's hospital room.
"How was I supposed to have remembered that I was wearing a bullet proof jacket, that's not what comes to mind when you see your life flash before your eyes," Cole replies with an exaggerated sigh.
"So what came to your mind then," Raven questions looking unimpressed although you can tell that she is just as relieved that Cole is ok.
"Pizza, parties and the fact that I'll be labeled a hero after my death. Wait, you still think I'm a hero, right Alisa, I did all that not only because I'm stupid but also to impress you," Cole says the last part shyly and I have to awe internally at how cute he is being.
"Well I'm not impressed, how the heck did you expect to impress me if you were rotting six feet below me with soil on top of you," Alisa questions hands flying around in unreadable gestures.
"I'm not sure," Cole responds slowly although he has a sly smile on his face.
"You idiot," Alisa whispers with a smile before pulling him in for a hug, as much as the tubes around him could allow anyway.
When I was brought to the hospital, I only had to stay for a day and a half since I didn't have any serious injury. I had fainted due to loss of blood and luckily, a parademic was around to catch me just in time.
When my injuries where properly treated, I was free to go although I had a lot of drugs prescribed for me. A trip to a therapist was also advised although my parents and I are yet to come to a decision on that.
Cole on the other hand had cracked his head open but the bullet proof jacket he was wearing saved his life. You can't imagine how grateful I am that he's alive, if he died, the guilt of his death would have hunted me forever.
They gave him anaesthesia in case he woke up during the process of stitching his head and so he has been asleep for three days only just waking up now.
Jayden on the other hand was recommended surgery immediately and so we aren't allowed to see him yet. But according to his parents and the doctors, the surgery was successful and so we had nothing to worry about.
Trent had gone back home along with Don and the gang, they all made it in one piece thank heavens. We also managed to get our parents not to ask a lot of questions, which we, by the way, didn't want to supply answers to.
I'm just glad nobody was lost in all this madness, that would have been a real buzz kill and I mean that in the saddest way possible.
"Alright kids time's up, you have to go to school remember. You can come visit Cole when you're back," Cole's mom says ushering us out of his ward.
"Bye guys, bring some pizza for me when you visit after school," Cole yells and waves despite the tubes surrounding him.
"That guy and pizza," Mason comments with a shake of his head and we all laugh in reply. Honestly Cole is one of the strongest people I know because despite him being in what others would have considered a condition, he still manages to put a smile on his face for the people he loves.
As we made our way through the hallway, I noticed that people were staring, at me most especially. Some people had expressions of pity, some understanding and some amusement.
"Guys, you're noticing the stares too, right?" I ask them suddenly feeling insecure.
"Oh shit," Louis curses with wide eyes, the same expression the rest of my friends were spotting.
