Jayden and I were currently in creamy goodness waiting for the others to arrive. Jayden has been fidgeting with his hands and bouncing his legs for the past ten minutes we've been here.I have tried to calm him and his raging nerves down but nothing seems to be working. At this rate, I won't be surprised if he's on the verge of freaking out.
"Jayden relax, everything is going to be fine" I say again taking his hands in mine this time.
I absentmindedly trace circles on the top of his hand trying to calm him down. My mom use to do it to me whenever I was about to pass out from too much social anxiety. He tensed at my touch at first but when he saw that I had no plans of letting go, he gradually began to relax into it. I was sitting beside him instead of opposite him so I could comfort him better. When he placed his head in the crook of my neck, I kind of stilled but then snapped out of it when I remembered that I was supposed to be comforting him.
I put my arms around him and traced light circles soothingly on his back. He let out a shaky breath causing me to shudder as tingles went down my spin. We didn't say anything and just lapsed in the comfort of each others presence.
I don't know how long we sat in each others arm lost in our thoughts but it must have been long enough for me to forget where I was and jump in shock at the sudden sound of someone's voice.
"I see you guys were getting comfy without us" Alisa said with a smirk which was identical to the one on the rest of their faces apart from Blake but we know were that's coming from.
Sighing and trying desperately to regulate the erratic beatings of my heart, I flashed Alisa an unamused smile even though I was probably an unflattering shade of read from having been caught in an embrace with Jayden.
Blake cleared his throat causing an awkward tension to envelop us.
"So why did you call us here" he asked in a monotone voice his face blank.
"You want to know what's been going on in my life right, well I've finally decided to tell you" Jayden said his voice quiet.
They all proceeded to take their seats around us in the booth we reserved for them.
We ordered ourselves some drinks and sipped on them as an uncomfortable silence fell over us.Things were beginning to get more awkward so if Jayden doesn't tell them now, I doubt there'll ever be another chance to tell them.
As if reading my mind Jayden cleared his throat, when he looked up and saw all eyes on him he winced slightly and I immediately put my hand on his knee to remind him that I was here. He calmed a little at the comforting gesture and began to speak.
"So before I start my story, you have to know that after I'm done with telling you this, your lives will be put in a considerable amount of danger" he clasped his hands together and scanned the faces around the table.
The wierd looks they were giving Jayden said it all, they were surprised or should I confused at the unexpected turn of events.
"Dude whatever you want to say can't be that bad" Cole countered an uneasy smile on his face.
"It is that bad and that's why I'm not forcing any of you into hearing this. Heck if you back out I'll be the happiest guy alive because once I tell you this, there is no going back for any of us" he leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest scanning everybody with calculating eyes.
"You make it sound like we're joining a cult" Raven said partially amused.
"Well you might be" Jayden replied smugly seeing the uneasiness on their faces. The only person that didn't seem affected by his taunting was Blake who had a rather curious look on his face.
