Logan once again sat on the old rocking chair in his balcony pondering on the activities that happened yesterday, a particular activity if he was being precise.Even though he sounded extremely confident when he was talking to fox, the truth is, he didn't feel as confident as he made out.
Sure he was determined to make the girl who turned out to be his victim fall at his feet, he still didn't expect to do it so quickly.
Infact, he didn't expect the girl to turn out to be someone like Jody, innocent and always seeing the good in people, and he sure as hell didn't expect himself to feel anything for the preppy girl let alone reciprocate her obvious feelings.Logan Malcolm has never been this confused about a decision in his entire life. He felt the urge to smoke but stopped himself when he remembered what Jody said about his smoking habit.
'You know smoking isn't good for your lungs Logan, why risk having cancer and dieing prematurely when you can always prevent it thereby expanding your life span. You'll have to stop smoking Logan, if anything for me' she had asked with hopeful eyes.
He was already betraying her trust by the mere fact of his existence so the least he could do is give up smoking for her sake.
Before he met Jody, his plan had been to exploit whatever pathetic girl ended up being his victim and he had been more than prepared to do that.
His new discovery is that not only is Jody far away from being pathetic, she also managed to conjure up unexplainable feelings in his once stone cold heart. This whole ordeal is really laughing in his face, his wish had been to get what he wanted fast so he could leave the dreadful memories of highschool behind but now he wasn't so sure. As if to taunt him further, he had all the information up his sleeves and yet he still couldn't gather the courage to ring fox up.
The most dreadful realization he made topped off all his other problems. It seems that Logan Malcolm in the past three weeks had managed to create a soft spot for not only Jody but her friends too.
Then again he couldn't help the feeling his heart got when he was around them. It was like his wishes in highschool had finally come true, he had real friends.
Even though they didn't trust him at first, they still had the decency to remain civil to him. Over the past three weeks, he had bonded exceedingly well with them it sometimes even surprised him.
After spending a few days with him, they had started warming up to him, treating him like he had always been a part of their little group. The truth is, he has never felt like he belonged somewhere as much as he felt like he belonged with them and that scared him.
What Jody told him was a plan they had to take fox down and not telling Fox about it will mean double crossing him.
Fox has been like a father to him and despite popular belief, to him fox wasn't that bad of a person. Or at least he thought he wasn't, killing your own daughter is over the top, even for someone like fox.
Despite that fact, Logan couldn't help but feel that he still owed fox in many ways. He had given him a place to belong to when he needed one. Even though that place was dangerous and not the best place to belong, he had still made Logan feel like a part of something and for that he was grateful.
Logan could feel tears welling up in his eyes but he furiously brushed it away. After his parents died, Logan had willed himself not to let a single tear ever fall from his tear duct again.
Although he claimed to be stone hearted, he couldn't ignore the fact that he missed his parents a lot. They had always been there for him and so he couldn't help but feel hurt that they left him to face the antics of this cruel world alone.
