It was Wednesday afternoon after school, and the gang and I were currently in Louis's house, baking for the auction. Well Louis and I were doing baking, while the rest of them just sat and watched us, occasionally trying to dip their fingers in the batter for the cake.
Louis's was right about his mom and dad, they gushed about us a little too much.
They were really affectionate people so it was kind of awkward, mostly for Raven who didn't seem used to public displays of affection.
After they had calmed down a bit, we explained our reason for coming, and were immediately given the go-ahead to use the kitchen. Louis's mom didn't try to hide her joy at us being "productive," and she seemed to think we were a good influence on Louis. His dad looked proud to say the least. They were such affectionate parents, it could be a little too much, or exactly what a child was looking for.
Despite what Louis said, I still think he likes the way they dote him.
When we were finally about to start baking, I asked them to gather up the various ingredients we would need, I even went ahead to list them, but they all stared at me blankly. Except for Louis, who looked to know his way around a kitchen fairly well.
Of course I'd know how to cook and bake. Before Trent and Nora, there was a period that my social life was non-existent. I picked up a couple of skills, and tried various things, just to keep myself busy.
Alisa and Raven, I expected this from, but I was kind of shocked Jody didn't know how to bake since she seemed like the kind to be covered in flour on a Saturday morning.
Despite knowing their answer, I asked anyway.
"Do you guys know how to bake?" I asked them, frowning slightly. As expected, they all shook their heads, causing Louis and I to groan loudly. This was going to be a long afternoon, or evening, depending on what the time is.
So this is how Louis and I ended up baking everything, pretty much, on our own. What darling friends I had. They were a pain in the butt sometimes, but I guess that's what comes with the whole being "friends" package.
"So Sam, you never really got around to telling us what happened between you and Jayden at that one business dinner you and your family were invited to," Alisa said, her sentence a little sudden since we hadn't been expecting anyone to disturb the peace and quiet we were currently basking in.
"Business dinner?" I threw back, confused.
"Yeah, the one you were telling us about yesterday. The one you hadn't expected to see a certain Jayden Rivers at. Your encounter with him is what I want to hear about, you did say you were going to tell us, eventually," Alisa's tongue came out to poke the inside of her upper lip, her dark eyes glinting with barely concealed curiosity.
"Okay," I drawled, not knowing exactly what to say. My friends were freaking ridiculous sometimes, scratch that everytime.
"Well, he was being ridiculously rude to his parents which is typical of him. At some point I excused myself to use the restroom, got lost, decided to explore and got caught by Jayden. Apparently he's called Ryder at home and he got really mad when he saw me in his room with a picture of him, his mom and two other people I don't know. It was really scary how angry he got over something so small," I explained thinking back to me and Jayden's encounter, and shuddering involuntarily. Furious Jayden was a scary one.
