Katie had never seen the boy standing in the feeble sunshine before her. He kept on trying to push something out of his eyes, and was blinking really fast, like it was raining or something. Sure, he was kind of hot, and he definitely looked like an Aviator Nation model or something, but something about him was weird. Maybe it was the way he was blinking. Maybe it was the way he was looking into the house, like he expected to see something there. Maybe it was the way he was looking at her.

"So, now that we got that clear, ya good?"

"I...I don't understand," The Cali Hottie said.

"That makes two of us," Katie said with a wink. "Hey, do I know you?"

Maybe he was an ex she'd forgotten. He didn't look like the kind of ex he'd forget, though... weird or not.

"Yes," Jason said in a strained voice. "Thank you."

"And how do I know you again?" Katie said with fluttering lashes.

"From- I'm- Shelly, she-"

"Are you confused?" Katie cut in. What was he talking about? Who was Shelly? And how did he know her if she was sure she'd never seen him in her life?

"I'm...yeah."

The California Hottie looked so crushed and adorable, that Katie couldn't help it. She stepped forward, putting a hand on his muscular shoulder, though she was looking backward all the while.

"Maybe Snapchat?" She said. Then her eyes grew wide. "Are you named Antagonist underscore Jason with a winky emoji?"

Jason blinked at her with pale eyes. Then he slid his phone out of his jeans pocket b and fiddled with it. "Yeah," he said finally. He showed her his account, and finally, a spark of recognition registered inside of her.

"Yeah, that's you!! I'm Katie Cakes with like a million hearts? My bitmoji is blond..."

Jason's face was blank. He checked his phone again, eyes widening in the glow of the screen. Then he started scrubbing it with his sleeve, and muttering something.

"What are you doing?"

"It shouldn't get wet."

Katie bit her lip, not sure if she should call him out on being weird or just leave it be.

"Katie Cakes."

"Yeah?"

"No, here," He showed her his phone, and there she was.

"Yeah, I know," she said. "We snap all the time, if you forgot."

"I..."

The poor thing looked so confused. "Let me explain it you," Katie said. "I don't know you, but we snap sometimes. Like not all the time, that was an exaggeration, but sometimes. Whoever you're looking for, I don't know who they are. Get it?"

"Who's that?"

Katie jumped, looking back into her house. Drake came closer, and as he stepped out of the shadows of her house, she could make out a face contorted in something like anger. His dark eyes snapped to her hand on Jason's shoulder, and he spoke again. "I said who's that, Katie?"

"I- this is Jason. He's-"

"Do you know where Shelly is?" Jason asked, desperation lining his cute voice.

"Who the hell is Shelly?" Drake snapped. He took hold of Katie's shoulders and yanked her back from Jason. "Who the hell is this Jason?" He hissed in her face.
