Shawn's POV: School Hallway "Football." I said to Cory
"No, no, pain. Cleats on face." Cory replies
"Modern dance?" I suggested
"No lots of girls. Tights. No." Cory says
"Drama club?" I suggested
"No lots of guys. Tights. No." Cory says
"Cor, that's the list." I said
"Cory, there are no more options." Vanessa says, her sweet smile appeared on her face.
"None of these are me, Shawn, and Vanessa. Here I am starting my eighth year of public education. And who am I really?" Cory asks, Vanessa rolls her eyes at the mention of her first name. She's never really liked the name Vanessa and prefers Nessa.
"You're you, Cory Matthews." I replied
"But there's no Cory Matthews club on here, there's no club for guys who don't know who they are and aren't great at anything." Cory says
"So start one." I said
"I probably wouldn't get in." Cory says
The bell rings
"Cory c'mon you got a lot of good qualities. Hey, you're honest, loyal, and decent." I said
"And nice, well sometimes." Vanessa adds
"And housebroken too. I'm a stinking beagle." Cory says, as we walk to class.

"Alright people this just off the wire elections for next year's eighth grade class president will be held next week." Mr. Turner says
"Who cares?" Cory coughs into his hands
"Detention!" Mr. Turner coughs back
"Sorry!" Cory coughs
"You people whine about the way things run around here. This is a chance to change things by getting involved. Remember, this is a student election." Mr. Turner says
"It's not a popularity contest." The whole class says
"Y'know I think we've been spending a little too much time together. The point is, your class president doesn't need to be a quarterback or cheerleader. You'll be much better off with someone who's honest, loyal, and decent." Mr. Turner rambles
Vanessa's POV:
"Cory that's you." Shawn says
"What?" Cory asks
"You wanted to know who you were, you could be president." I said
"Come on." Cory says
"Alright let's have some nominations." Mr. Turner says
