Vanessa's POV:
Cory and I had just gotten to Shawn's trailer with brown bags full of things for Shawn. Shawn's parents were out of town and he wasn't feeling well. It's late and I'm just glad all my family is out of town too otherwise my dad would ground me for being out late. I was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants because Cory dragged me out of the house for this.
Cory kicks on the door because we both had our hands full with bags.
"Shawn. Shawn. It's me— Cory." Cory yells
"And Vanessa." I added
The lights turn on and Shawn opens the door
"Cory, Ness, what are you doing here?" Shawn asks us
"Well, our best friend's sick, his folks are out of town. We just thought we would drop by and check on you." Cory says as he pushes past Shawn into the trailer
Shawn takes the bags out of my hands and I walked in.
"I'll take those." I said to Shawn as I took the bags back and followed Cory into the kitchen
"These bags weigh a ton." Cory complains as he sets everything down on the kitchen table
I set down the bags I was carrying on the table. Shawn was now standing in between Cory and I.
"But, you know, I just thought we could bring over a few little sundries to tide you through. Uh, cough syrup, aspirin..." Cory says
Shawn looks in one of the bags
"Vaporub?" Shawn questions
"What, you didn't bring me any flowers?" Shawn jokingly asks
"Well, actually I did. I just didn't know if it was appropriate." Cory says as he pulls out a small vase with yellow flowers
"I thought you were just kidding about that Cory." I said
"It's not. It's not appropriate." Shawn says as he takes the vase from Cory
"Now, uh, if you'll excuse me, I, um, I got to get some sleep." Shawn says as Cory and I take more stuff out of the bags
He then coughs
"I'm very contagious." Shawn says
"Oh, say no more. I'll just plug in the humidifier and we'll be on our way." Cory says as takes the humidifier out and goes to pull it in
A blonde girl, who is in our grade, her name is Claire walks out from the back bedroom area in what I assume is Shawn's robe.
