Chapter 22

We're at the airport right now, Dad was arranging my luggages. Mom hugging me right now, Zach's holding Macey in his arms looking at me with sad smile.

"I'm gonna miss my baby so much. Take care, I can't wait to see you in your graduation soon." Mom kissed me in the forehead. I smiled at her, trying not to show any sadness because it will only make us cry.

I bid goodbye to Zach and Macey. "Can't you at least extend your stay, I don't want you to miss our wedding." I shyly hold her hand, "I'm really sorry, I didn't know the university would call us so soon. My professor was bugging me about my research and the nursing home as well. Regards to you both and don't worry I'll be present during the holidays."

Macey hugged me tightly, for me it is still so awkward but she's a really nice person. I'm glad Zach even passed the convo of what really happened to our past. She knew that Theo is in the military for training but really not the real reason why. Well, truth to be told if I was Macey how would I react if I know the real deal.

It was not in my place anymore but I have to tell Zach. Zach hugged me after Macey, I whispered to him "When will you tell Macey the truth?" He sounded so nervous, "Soon, probably after the wedding." I nodded. I went to Dad he isn't saying a word. I went to grab the cart from him.

"Take care" that's the only thing he could said. Well if that's one way to be treated right then fine I don't care at least I heard something good before I left. I was trying not to look back at them when I was going to the gate. They were not allowed to enter the check-in area so I was calm.

I received an unexpected text from 2 persons who broke my heart.

From: Theo
Goodbye and have a safe flight dear sis.

From: Tobi
Take care, I'll miss you

I really don't know how to react, it made my heart flutter and sad at the same time. I didn't reply to any of them and just sat down on the waiting area. I was about to take out my book but I saw this dude wearing a yale hoodie and his face covered by a pillow, his feet is also blocking my seat.

I tapped the guy's shoulder, "Excuse me dude like wake up!" He woked up and was shocked. He was a bit angered, and pull down his pillow and feet to the side. "I'm sorry but who are you to wake me up?!" Grabe ang kapal ng mukha this is not some love-hate story made in the airport, I didn't choose to seat beside kaso yun na lang available at peak season ngayon.

"Miss, malay ko bang dito ka uupo sa tabi ko." I laughed at him, "Patulog-tulog ka pa kasi eh hindi pa pag naka-sakay na." He fixed his things and looked at his watch. "Naks, Yale student naman pala." He just laughed, "Sa states ka din ba nag-aaral what university?"

"Baylor university, hindi siya super sikat na school." He smiled. "Ah sa texas." How did he know, lucky guess siguro. "Alam mo?" He smiled softly. "Yung girlfriend ko graduate dun." I just nodded. "Anong course niya baka kilala ko?"

"She took up a  business course, manager na siya ngayon ng isang clothing line sa New York." I smiled. "Sana all" He just laughed loudly, Naistorbo yung mga katabi namin, we got embarassed. "Parang di naman halata sayo na wala kang boyfriend".

"It's complicated" he looks doubtful. "Sus, anong it's complicated. Hindi niyo lang pinili ang isa't-isa kaya ganun. Kung mahal niyo naman ang bawat isa, hindi naman mahirap lagyan ng label eh." I snorted.

"Madami kasing options yung humadlang kaya ganun." The staff announced that the gate will be opened in five minutes, naghanda na kami. "Ahh, malandi ka pala kaya ganun."

"Grabe siya kung makapag-judge ka naman dyan!" I looked at him angrily. He looked scared for a moment but smiled. "Joke lang ito naman, ganun talaga siguro kapag magaganda ano. Like my girlfriend, alam ko naman madami din foreigner umaaligid sa kanya but we chose each other."

I got my things and stood up, yung ibang mga passengers kasi na nasa front seat umuna na, ako ay sa middle seat naka pwesto. "By the way, nice meeting you. I'll get going". The guy suddenly left, it was nice meeting a stranger and listening to their story.

On the plane, first stop namin is Tokyo then direct flight na to Texas. I was so sleepy, after 3 hours nakarating na kami sa Tokyo. The flight attendant announced that my connecting flight will be tomorrow 7am. It's just 7pm I have 12 hours.

I explored around Tokyo, tried out some authentic ramen and sushi. Nagshopping na din ako ng ibang goods for my dorm mates and professors as well. Hindi na ako nag book ng hotel room, sa lounge na lang ako mag-stay.

I called my mom and told her about my flight, she said Macey's parents were saddened about me rushing to go back. After the wedding, pwede naman daw ako mag-stay sa Washington any time.

I slept for awhile then pumunta na din sa boarding area, I was so tired. I hopped on the plane and travel time was more than 12hrs. I arrived at the texas airport, I grabbed a taxi since malapit lang naman ang university dorm.

Lay down on my bed, wala yung ka dorm mate ko baka umattend ng party or event. Nakapagpahinga na din sa wakas. I messaged mom baka hindi na nagigising yung mga yun and Theo as well. Maigi na we're clear sa kung anong relationship meron kami.

To: Theo
Arrived safely, take care bro.

I put down my phone, settled my alarm dahil first day of classes tomorrow.
