Another Tuesday meant another half day, for Nari would meet Changmin by the stairs and sneak off with him. She hoped today he would be here, the last time they spoke things were weird to say the least.
But Changmin, being so green, had no choice but to turn up. He wouldn't torture himself by letting Nari go with Jacob alone, he just couldn't.
"You came," Nari smiles as the boy approached her, the two quickly turning and walking quickly towards the gates.
"Why wouldn't I?" He asks, looking down at the girl.
"I just wasn't sure, we haven't spoken," she says casually, looking to each side of her to see if anyone was around before they ran down the steps.
"But we never speak apart from Tuesdays," Changmin points out, looking over at the girl although she didn't look back.
He admired her for a second, like he always did, then pushed those thoughts aside - today wasn't about that, it was about trying to stop someone else from admiring her.
Nonetheless, he got on that train with her, and acted as though nothing was wrong.
Except for the fact he knew he was torturing himself more by going with her, than letting her go alone.
"I have never seen you two before," the man behind the desk argued with the two as they looked between each other cluelessly. "How do I know what your intentions are?"
"We're here to volunteer," Nari looks over to Changmin, who had frozen. "We filled out forms last time we were here."
"And who gave you those forms?" He tilts his head, looking at the girl with narrow eyes.
"Jacob did," she says confidently, failing to feel intimidated by the man who evidently had the objective to try and scare them. "You can go and look for yourself."
"No need," the voice of Jacob rings through the shop, their voices were too loud to hear the boy entering. "I know them, thanks Daeyeol."
Nari throws the man a sarcastic smile as he looks between them. "Very well, I had to be safe."
"Very well, I had to be a dick," Nari mutters as she mocks his voice quietly so only Changmin could hear, making him stifle a laugh as his hand flew up to his mouth to cover it.
Although, the smile soon wiped from his face when Jacob appeared before the two, glancing at Nari first and giving her a smile, which made Changmin want to groan. Already?
"Are you both okay with lifting heavy objects?" Jacob cautiously asks, looking between the two.
"We are," Changmin answers, before looking down at Nari. "Well, I am."
"As gentlemen, we'll carry for you, Nari," Jacob jokes with the two, however the joke completely threw over Changmin's head.
"You don't think she's capable?" The taller asks, tilting his head to examine the boys face, which had completely dropped.
