"This is still so strange," Nari mutters, looking down as Juyeon squeezed her hand gently. "I still don't understand."

The card in her free hand she was clutching on to so tightly was causing her palms to sweat even more than they were before.

An invitation. She was lucky that she had gotten one, in his eyes, although he knew she had to be there. After all, she was his little sister, and was anything ever that serious after four years?

"Stop worrying your pretty little head about it," her boyfriend poked her cheek, giving her a smile which was truthfully enough to make her forget about anything else, even if it were for only a moment. "We're here now, put on your brave smile."

And so she did, walking up the pathway to the home she once called her own.

"You're here," Nari's mother spoke as she opened the door, giving her daughter a hug as well as Juyeon. "Come in, you two must be freezing."

"Hi dad," the girl said with a smile, hugging her father tighter than she had hugged her mother. "Something smells nice."

"Just my cooking," the man shrugs casually, ruffling the girls hair as he shook Juyeon's hand. "You're both looking well."

His words were enough to make Nari smile, although it would soon fade when she thought about how long she had gone without seeing her family, all because of him.

He was always there, making it near enough impossible for her to visit.

That's why when the news of her brothers engagement came to her, she wondered just how he was never gone from their home. It seemed almost unbelievable.

"He's out back," her father said, giving her a sympathetic smile. "You can stay in here if you want, keep the peace."

The girl scoffed at his words, shaking her head as she caught a glimpse of the man who stood in the garden, smiling as he spoke to people with a beer in his hand.

He had grown more than she ever imagined he would, he was bigger and slightly unrecognisable with the new sense of maturity he embodied. Her heart twinged in her chest at the sight of him.

"Stay with me," Nari muttered to Juyeon, clutching his hand as he placed an arm around her, leaning down to kiss her head.

"I'm not going anywhere."

The hours passed surprisingly quickly for the couple who sat on the couch, drinking and simply enjoying each other's company.

Times like this, they felt like teenagers again, reminiscent of the times they shared at house parties. "I should have known I loved you when we would sit exactly like this."

"Every so often you tell me you loved me since a particular moment," Juyeon chuckled, rubbing circles on the girls knee as he smiled at her. "Make up your mind, woman."
