Damon's POV

"21. The answer is 21."

A calm and confident voice broke the silence and I glanced sideways before turning towards the professor. "That's right." His eyes gleamed in content as if he expected her to be the first to answer.

I glanced back at Hazel and saw her smirking at the girl she bumped into before, who was sitting at my front right. She looked at Hazel in annoyance before turning back.

I now more or less knew what this was about. She seems to be the only person who could compete with Hazel. Thus, it was a full on battle.

Well, that's interesting.

This continued for a while. Hazel seemed to be winning almost each time. She didn't seem to be intimidated by her competitor and got all of her answers right.

I tapped my fingers on the desk, while watching Hazel casually answer all the questions correctly. At that time, a sudden thought crossed my mind which unknowingly brought a faint smile on my face.

For some reason, I wanted to know what would be her reaction if she were to be challenged.

It didn't take long for it as an excellent chance was thrown my way when she answered a question wrong.

On contrary to Hazel's calm and feminine voice, my deep voice sounded very unusual which brought everyone's attention to me.

The professor looked startled. Perhaps he was used to the routine which got interrupted. He paused throwing a look my way before his lips curved into a one-sided smile. "Option A is the correct answer." He confirmed, giving Hazel and I, each a glance.

I turned towards Hazel, who had her brows furrowed, as she continued to stare at me. Though in the end, she said nothing.

Whereas the answer to the next one is B and Hazel and I both answered it at once.

Everyone stared at us. Even the students who seemed disinterested before and were sleeping on their desk, now perked up as if they found this entertaining.

Hazel snapped her head so fast, for a second, I wondered if she hurt her neck. She lowered her eyes to check the book I had on my desk, which was the same as hers.

Also, this was her second time doing so.

Not that I needed it though, but I had to pretend to care, at least. Her brows furrow deeper as she pursed her lips and I knew what she was thinking.

She had solved these before; I could see some of the steps on her notebook. So how did I know the answer by just looking at the questions?

I didn't plan on revealing anything so I just smiled at her, but for some reason, this just irked her more as she turned her head in annoyance.

The professor who seemed to be enjoying the sudden change in atmosphere slammed his book shut. "I'll give you all a sum, how about a quick revision?

I hear groans from all around.

"The person who gets this first will get a plus 15 in assignments."

The man picked up the chalk and wrote a question. I glanced at Hazel and found she had already started to scribble some words and figures in her notebook.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her childish behaviour.

I guess that's what I would expect from a daughter of a successful businessman. Even though, they always seem to be at odds, they both hold similar traits. Like being the number one in whatsoever they want to achieve.
