Damon's POVIt's been quite a while since the two of them left and they are not back yet. Is it because she's angry? Should I look for them? Now, now why would I do that?
Should I inform Mr. Barnes. Yes that would be right. I start looking around in search of Mr. Barnes and I found him at the opposite side of the hall.
I was about to speak first but he beat me to it. "Well, well look who's back!
I didn't know we have exchanged our jobs." He says raising an eyebrow.
I scrunch my brows in confusion and he lifts up his hand pointing his finger somewhere behind me.
I turn around to see Lisa in front of me talking to a guest.
Fuck!I slowly turn to face Mr. Barnes who is now standing in front of me with his hands folded. I feel like a five year old who got caught while stealing some candies.
I start to speak again but he interrupts me raising his hands up in defense. "Trust me boy I don't mind you spending quality time with Miss Williams but I'm sure she would mind." He shrugged.
Sometimes I hate how straightforward he is. "I wasn't spending quality time with her." I say making each word crystal clear.
"Whereas she wouldn't even look at me after what happened just now." I say with a sigh.
"Ahhh!" He exclaims though his eyes are still fixed at Lisa. "Relationship troubles already?"
I roll my eyes at him. "The point is they are now nowhere to be seen."
"They?"
"She left with a guy named Frank." I tell him in a weird voice. Saying his name made cringe for some reason.
"In that case, you need not to worry." He says casually.
"But it's been a while now. You know there are so many people here." I protest.
"Like I said before, if she's with Frank there's nothing to worry about. She'll be absolutely safe with him."
Safe with him I don't know why but I didn't like the way his words sound. Even though I tried not to be bothered, it gave me a weird feeling.
"Who is he? And why is he invited to this party?" I ask trying to hide the irritation in my voice.
"For the starters, Franklin is is the son of Ian Winchester who owns Tesco. He's very influential in this industry. Though not as much as Williams Co, he'd still be a very tough competitor if crossed." He takes a pause before continuing.
"But that's not the case. Steve and Ian are very close. So there's no rivalry between them at all. In fact, they have joined hands which has benefitted them both..."
I take in his words and nod in understanding. "The two strongest company allying.. which is why it is impossible for other competitors to cross them." I complete his words for him.
He nods and opens his mouth to speak but his words were cut off by someone.
"Damon! Where were you? Are you tired of your job already?
I'm sure I'm not such a boring person." Lisa says with a pout and holds my arm, dragging me away.
"Anyway let's go outside. There are reporters out there, that would be fun." She says with a wink, walking towards the exit while dragging me along.
Is that where Hazel and Frank went?
Now that I notice, Mrs. Williams has been out the whole time. I guess she really enjoys the fame she receives.
