Hazel's POV
"So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older"A loud song blasted in my room and I groaned internally shutting my alarm while cussing under my breath.
Yup! I'm definitely not a morning person!
After brushing my teeth and getting fresh, I took a quick shower and raked my eyes over the clothes in my wardrobe. Without adding much thought to it, I pick a grey sleeveless tee, and a black hoodie over it.
I tied my hair into a bun as I usually do, making sure I never make the mistake of leaving my hair open.
Well, I once did it. Which was horrific!
Frank spent the whole day yelling, 'Hazel! Let down your hair.'
I hear my phone ring and pick it up instantly. "Where are you?" I inquired.
"On my doorstep... Listen kid! Are you sure you wanna do this?"
I cringed as I always do every time he called me a kid. "Did I stutter the last time?"
I heard a scoff at the other end. "Jeez! Kids these days and their big talks." He grumbled to himself.
Judging by the way he talks.. he either thinks I'm five or he thinks he's fifty.
I got a notification as soon as we finished talking. Shit! 23 missed calls from Amaya.
There's no use calling her now so I'll simply talk to her when we meet.
I heard a knock on the door which meant my breakfast is here! Since I don't eat downstairs one of our workers brings me breakfast everyday.
I opened the door only to find the back of a man instead.
"Ah! You're up." The figure turned around revealing himself.
I froze as I looked at him. Damon stood at the door, giving me his signature smile. But he looked... very different.
His smile had a glint of mischief and his sparkling brown eyes were twinkling. But that wasn't the remarkable difference. The difference was.. he looked younger.
Unlike usual, his hair wasn't sticking up in spikes. It was drooping down his forehead which made it look longer and almost covered his eyebrows.
Also he wasn't wearing his usual black and white suit. He was dressed in a plain white t-shirt and washed blue jeans. A simple silver watch on his left hand instead of his usual black one.
He looked young. Miraculously young. Just like... a completely different person.
I lost focus as his looks brought back some vivid images from the past to my mind. Right now, he just looks like a younger version of himself.
A younger version...
"Hazel?"
"Huh?"
"I said let's go down to eat." He started walking but turned behind when he realized I'm still in a daze.
"Oh don't worry! There's no one down, so it will be just us." He explained, probably because he thought that's what was bothering me.
But I wasn't really in my right mind to adhere to it. "I'm.. I'm not really hungry. You should go ahead."
He stared back at me with skepticism. "Are you okay? You don't look so good..."
"I'm all right. Just go ahead.. please." I didn't want to be rude but I couldn't help it. Whereas I really lost my appetite for some reason.
