Hazel's POV
"Damon, Walter get into my office." There was a hint of urgency in his voice. Without waiting for them he headed towards his study followed by Walter. I roll my eyes, already knowing what pot of bullshit he is gonna cook in there.
Probably just worried about the amount of money his company lost due to the recent situation.
Damon was still standing right next to me. He tilted sideways to meet my eyes, giving me an apologetic look. He then reached for my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. I felt a chill pass throughout my body as his large warm hands engulfed mine.
This is the third physical contact we had today. And to my surprise I didn't mind it at all.
I was too numb to feel anything back in the hospital. But it was different now. My senses were back to normal, or rather at its peak I could say.
He gave me a small smile and left my hand in an instant. I stood still on my place and stared at my bare hand which felt too sensitive at the moment.
I shake my head wildly. I need some air!
I take in a deep breath and open my eyes. My vision taking in the view in front of me. I always come up here, on the rooftop wherever I feel lonely or anxious.
I stare at the distant scenery trying to make the most of my jumbled thoughts. No matter how much I try to think, my mind is a complete mess.
Why would someone attack Aiden? Who could it be?
But even as I thought so, I already knew the answer. One of my father's business competitors. Who else!
Suddenly my breath started to get heavy. And slowly I found myself fuming in anger.
Did he even once care about me, about Aiden...
about mom?
And Damon! Oh God, Damon has gotten caught up in this mess too.
I stayed up there for a few more minutes. When I finally felt a little relaxed and normal, I went back into the living room to eat. I'm starving!
The trio had just left my father's study. His eyes met mine and he exclaimed, "Ah! Just in time."
My eyes unintentionally flickered on Damon. He had an odd expression on his face, as if anticipating something. Also eyeing me skeptically like a scientist observing his subject.
I turned back to my father when he continued, "take a seat." He put his hand forward in a gesture and sat down himself with his hands forward, leaning on his knees. Walter joined him as well while I stood rooted on my place and so did Damon. He was standing somewhere across my line of vision, posed over a sofa.
"As you already know, things are getting out of hand. Not only Aiden but you and Lisa are in danger as well."
Yeah I figured that much.
"Taking this into consideration, I've come up with a decision."
I don't know where this is going but I definitely know I'm not gonna like it.
I glance at Damon. His eyes are still on me, watching me skeptically.
"Long story short, Lisa is going to her aunt Maria's place to stay for the time being. Until we know for sure who the attackers are and things are back under control." He takes a pause and I raise an eyebrow at him. "Would you like to go as well?" He asks nonchalantly.
"What rubbish! There's no way I'm going there." I retort without skipping a beat.
Living with that witch is bad enough. I don't wanna go around meeting her family.
