I walk up the staircase when I spot the person I had been looking for, "Hey Madeline!" I reach her and she looks confused. It was understandable, since I hadn't spoken to either twin since my birthday party.

On top of that, their mother had banned me from speaking to them. After all, I was a bad influence. She was doing me a favour then, but now I needed to make a move.

You don't leave a death threat hanging and get away with it. If she could use threat like that on me, it wasn't impossible that she could do the same to my mother. So my question to my father earlier was very valid. But I didn't dwell on my mother's wellbeing now, since she was out of the picture and safely being taken care of thanks to me and doc.

Doc was highly generous when blackmail was involved. Anyone was I knew. So now I was hoping Madeline would be too.

"Are you talking to me?" she looks behind her. I roll my eyes.

"I don't think I see another Madeline. Do you?" she zips up. "I'm surprised I caught you all by yourself, seeing as you're always attached to the hip of your twin."

She hesitates but responds, "She's meeting up with a friend." A friend, huh? Wonder if it's the same boy Caroline had been flirting with at my party.

"Right. Can we talk in your bedroom?"

"Okay..." she leads me into her room that similar to mine but it was definitely lived in. The walls were painted a baby blue and one entire wall was buried under pictures and Polaroid snaps. It reminded me of my old room.

"Nice room. I love the photo wall. I have one like this at home." Home. I might never end up going back there. I clear my throat. "You into photography?" I point at the Polaroid camera on her white desk.

"A little, it was a gift from my dad..." Her father, Frank Evan, had died 3 years ago to a sudden heart attack. I felt bad for Madeline and wondered how hard it was to bring up her late father.

"Funny, I had gotten my first camera from my dad too." Ugh idiot. I was never good at comforting people.

"What did you want to talk about?" I smile, glad she's focusing on my weird visit than dwelling in her past.

"How about I show instead?" I slide through the content on my phone before I find the video Isaac sent me. I open it and show it to the 15 year old as she sits on her bed.

The video was of the twins, dancing awkwardly on the bar. Caroline moved her body to the music and Madeline tried to copy her. But the both of them were obviously drunk and it was severely humiliating. They should be glad that everyone else was probably drunker than them to remember anything.

Her eyes widen and she looks completely mortified.

"Look Mads, I really like you. Over that brat you have as a sister, and twin unfortunately. I know she's cruel to you. But you don't have to always follow her around. You can be your own person. Look at me!"
