About 2 hours later, I get a text from Vivian, telling me everything was fine. She didn't add the 'for now' part.

She's spending a few nights at Rose's, just in case. Oliver's not handling this well.

And no, Michael didn't do anything rash. None of us did.

4.46pm

The last text I doubted was true, but I breathe a sigh in relief and continue scrolling through the files on the laptop, recalling a multitude of memories, when the door opens. I guess when you're a patient confined to the bed, you don't really have much privacy.

"Camille."

I stare at the brown eyes I've known my entire life. My father's face was pale, tired, but mostly worried. Worried for me.

"I'm so sorry. This was never meant to happen."

An apology. He knew. He knew everything. I couldn't even give him the benefit of doubt anymore.

Suddenly the rage that consumed me in front of Belinda, comes rushing forth again. The thing that has fuelled almost every action of mine. That burning anger.

I slam the laptop shut, and pull out the pen drive, capping it as calmly as possible.

"I thought at first, you were the most oblivious person on earth. You were ignorant to mom's temper tantrums, her rages on me, or even the times she broke down for some reason between you two that I couldn't fix.

"And here, with Belinda and how cunning she can actually be, trying to send me away without tarnishing her precious reputation. But reality is, you're not blissfully oblivious. You're a hundred and one percent aware of everything going on around you. You just choose to ignore it. Ignore every problem you have caused and the ones who could solve, because it's too much work for you isn't it, Mr Sanders?"

I look him in the eye and hope to god he can see how much he has hurt me, how much anger I still have left in me in spite of everything.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

"Camille." His voice was low and stern. But the worry in his eyes didn't disappear, as I took a ragged breath in. "It isn't as easy as you think-"

"No, you just can't tell the truth. You refuse to accept the truth. You live in a delusional world where you happened by incredible luck to become this profitable. Should have known when they said you were millionaire. You don't have any real talent to run a business," my sneer is cruel but I couldn't help it. "Mom and I did most of the actual work for you back then. And now, it's Belinda."

I take a breath in.

"Why didn't you tell me? We could have avoided all this if you had just explained a little of this, instead of planning to leave us!"
