I took in a deep breath and shook out the nerves, but the adrenaline ebbed inside me, the nervous energy eating my stomach away.

"Where is he?" I turn my head his way, wrapping an arm around his waist.

He leans toward my ear, "Front entrance," I let my eyes wander behind him, casually, lazily. Not like I was doing surveillance. "He'll come to you." Dean reminds me, "The bar is already set, my man knows his job. Relax and keep him talking. Take the shot, you will be fine."

Trust us.

Trust us.

The bass was thumping loudly, the song drowned under the chanting crowd. All I heard were those words.

Trust us.

I shut my eyes and breathed. "Let's do this."

He stepped back and took his place on the barstool next to mine. We leaned close, Dean's eyes on me and behind me, flickering. Just then I saw a man pass by.

Unknown in dark clothes, neat but didn't completely fit in. Definitely not Bruce. He thrust himself into the crowd and I hoped Viv would never find out.

I felt Dean's hand on my arm, and my eyes wandered back to the empty seats and littered bar full of empty shot glasses. Vivian went all out on the alcohol. By the time the cake was cut, there was champagne served, and everyone became be drunker than drunk. It hand been my cue to Bruce to step in.

Viv was happy with her moment in the spotlight with everyone still sober for pictures, and allowed everyone to get blackout drunk. And so they did. Now when Bruce's men slipped in with their coke, who did what can't be pointed out. And with this much of a crowd, even the sober ones would have a hard time recalling what happens.

Vivian is going have a bit of explaining to do, but Michael would cover that, blame it on the men known to lurk parties, just like his own ones. It wasn't surprising that he had a lie prepared.

Dean draws a sharp breath, "He's eyeing us." He looks into my eyes, then my lips. The question was obvious. I gulped. "Mind if I-"

"Just do it."

He came forward, head tilting, "Copyrights sweetheart," he chuckled low. From the side, I catch sight of green eyes glowering from the dark.

I hissed then, "Shut up."

He grabbed my chin then, and kissed my lips as timidly as possible. At least he knew I wasn't comfortable doing this yet. Not after everything.

I spot the dark hair first. "Bruce," I mumbled, then gently pulled away from Dean. I clear my throat and address him. "Didn't expect to see you here."

"Dean didn't tell you I was coming?" he throws a condescending glance at the red head, who runs a hand through his hair.

I spare him a questioning look, "No."
