The party went completely fine, none of the tipsy kids dancing and drinking were interrupted by what went on upstairs between us four. Upstairs of course was a different story. I was panicking.

How- why would Bruce have been at the wedding? Did Belinda and my dad know?

Dean had nothing to calm me down, so I relied on the shots. Still I was sober to hear Dean's apology on not being there the day before, how he was sent away on a task and unable to inform me.

But also sober enough to be calmed by the sight of Isaac and Nicholas laughing at one corner of the dance floor. Isaac was laughing properly, and it was a relieving sight.

"I should go, make sure Michael doesn't do anything stupid."

I had grabbed his hand then, "Come on, let's go dance. You can follow your orders to keep an eye on me that way. Michael chose to speak with Bruce, he's not dumb enough to start anything stupid. Plus you're the only guy I've met that has really good moves."

He allowed me drag him down and join the crowd for a few minutes before he deposited me over to Viv and left. I remembered pouting, for the sake of Viv and Katrina who watched. When in reality, I wanted him to stay to talk, to tell me Bruce meant no harm.

He left all too quickly, and Michael didn't return much to my building panic. But he'd send a text to Rose, saying he left early. After that, I let the night consume me slowly, trying to enjoy the presence of my friends and what I was meant to be celebrating.

The memories swirled in my head, as I opened my eyes to the brightly lit room. Blinking did nothing to dim the brightness of this gold touched room. The door swung open and Viv came striding in, looking fresh in new clothes, and her hair up in a bun.

"Ah you're finally up! Bon matin, good morning."

"It's too early for this shit." I stirred away from her voice.

"It's 12, time to get up now."

"I thought you understood beauty sleep."

"Oui, but no amount of sleep is going to help you cherie." I flipped her the finger but groaned and got up. I wasn't completely smashed, but a light headache still hazed me. I knew it had more to do with Bruce than my drink mixing.

"We could go out for lunch, what do you say?" she asks, putting down the coffee she brought for me. I scan my phone's notifications and see Michael's and Dean's name pop up. Alongside them is an unknown number.

Nice doing business with you Camille. I hope you take up my offer.

9.45am

Offer? What offer? I rack my brain but come up with nothing. I read over the other texts before I answer Viv's question with a white lie. "Sorry Viv, look like dad wants me back home soon. He must want to know how the party went. Did we rack up a large tab?" I laughed.
