Somehow, I find myself stumbling through the front door of the house. But I barely remember driving back. I wasn't drunk. I was numb though. I couldn't feel the pain I was supposed to anymore, I couldn't cry, instead stare.

Would I stumble through life forever, the knowledge that I'd murdered my friend, sitting on my shoulders?

When I look up, I'm in the dining room. I see Belinda sitting in where I had sat ever since I arrived. That was her seat. I'd stolen it from her. I thought she'd brushed it off, but of course she doesn't let go easily.

"Where have you been?" the snappish tone seems hollow. "Are you alright?" Concern. That's new. But I could see through her act. She was a liar through and through.

"Absolutely Belinda. My friend just died but I'm fine. I am a bitch like that." My voice cracks but is surprisingly sturdy.

She rears back but doesn't seem surprised. Did she already know about him, how he died? Did she also know how I caused it?

Involuntarily, my mind drifts to Michael's words. His anguished face full of regret and anger. I deserved every bit of his rage. My mistakes had finally caught up to me. I should know better than to think the people around me won't be hurt by my ignorant selfish actions.

We'll wait, I thought. How fucking stupid.

I fall into my dad's seat and pull out my phone. I go over my call log and see Isaac's missed calls. Or rather the calls I'd ignored.

I'm such a stupid bitch.

A voice clears and I look up. Belinda looks at me intently. Slowly but surely I could feel the rage in me build up. There was going to be collateral damage.

"What are you doing up?" my eyes narrow on her. She was going over a file in front of her before I'd walked in. Now it lay shut.

"Well, you disappeared in the middle of the night, I was concerned." When did she notice?

"You've never pretended to be concerned before Belinda. Why now?"

"When you father isn't here, you are my responsibility." I crack a smile at that. What absurdity. "Who died? Or is it your well known sarcasm?"

She seemed genuinely curious. I glance down at my phone.

We have time.

Or do we? I thumb my pendant before looking up.

"Isaac Winston." There was no use hiding it. She would know. If she didn't already. "But you know that, don't you?"

"How would I have known that Camille?"

"Black motorbike. The man was dressed normally enough, but the black get up wasn't exactly stealthy in a hospital. I saw that bike when I came back home earlier, parked outside the house."
