I was starting to make a dent on the wooden chair

I was starting to make a dent on the wooden chair. Last two mornings and evenings, I'd been at Dean's, right before school and right after, sitting there for 2 hours straight. It was tedious and I hated doing my homework there, but Michael was of no help.

Come Friday morning, I was ordering coffee when I see the mop of blond hair from the corner of my eye. "Oh hey." I turn to the person next to me, "I never did get your name."

Collin Pennington. Michael's little rival. His blue eyes shone bright as he stared at me, which made me realise my forward rejection at getting to know him hadn't put him off his game. Boys were always so persistent.

"That's because you never asked. You come here often?" I asked the innocent question.

He smirks then, "Yeah. It's got good coffee that wakes you right up before an exam."

"So it's worth the trip down here?" I knew it wasn't exactly close to their school, St. Patrick. He nods.

The barista appears and Collin orders, "The usual please." He turns to me chuckling, "Been coming here long enough to become predictable."

"Must be dull." His smile drops slowly. When the barista returns with both our orders, he lifts his hand in a wave, "See you around I guess..."

I roll my eyes but smile light heartedly, "Camille." He knew my name, but he was doing the gentlemanly act of asking for it.

"Camille," he sounds out the two syllable name with his luscious voice. "Unique name. Later then." Then he ducks out of the small cafe and walks out of my sight.

I wonder if Michael would have just harrumphed at Pennington or scowled at me for being a bitch to his target.

I meet him again at the next game. This time St. Patrick's won by one, right at the end of the adrenaline filled game. Even I was at the edge of my seat as the last goal was made, entering the opponent's goal instead of being blocked.

It was hard blow on Thompson's towering ego no doubt, but he'd have to agree that it helped my plan tonight. This fast track plan would only work if they won.

I'd come with it on that same day after finding out Thornton was set to play against their rival on Saturday. And Michael had reluctantly agreed my plan had little flaws, so let me in on the incriminating package to be planted.

I'd made my way through the bleachers, catching the eye of the captain easily. I'd dressed up in bright red, borderline caution sign, for him to spot me as they passed by. I held my phone, glancing down at it earnestly when I heard the footsteps nearing me.

"Camille?"

I look up confused, "Oh Collin, hello." I give him a reluctant smile, "Nice job on taking the win home."

"I'm guessing there's no party for Thornton now huh?" he nodded down at my dress, eyes lingering at the slight cleavage on display. It was a party dress indeed, bright and short. But it had a sporty vibe to it, deeming it appropriate for the game. The jacket I'd thrown over it made it less fancy.
