Because favours are priced...

"You have an insatiable desire for trouble Camille Sanders. You'll never just be satisfied. You're like me, too wild for the world."
I laugh at the outrageousness. "You're dramatic I'll give you that Michae...

When I wake up the next morning, the news articles were blowing up. I had already disabled all my accounts to avoid the bombardment. But that didn't stop articles from reaching me.
Vivian shared links, alongside several texts asking about my well-being that paralleled the rest of the royals including Katrina. It seemed, according to Vivian, that Michael shared my number with them. I sigh, clicking on one of the links without replying to her.
When I find the latest issue of Evora Magazine loading, I widen my eyes.
'Charities, Frauds and Money Laundering'
Francine Evora
Just last night, 31st of January, we witnessed the unravelling of a large scheme, all thanks to a certain teenager's little digging. I take it upon myself to reveal the evidence and give a stage to the voice...
Francine...she rewrote my article. She made me sound worth listening to. As I scrolled forward, I found evidence, that I hadn't provided her. Credible evidence.
...One must always have an ace up their sleeve to win in this world...
The sentence caught my eye, and I recalled our meeting. This was her ace, and she didn't even tell me about it. This was her way of thanking me for taking the first hit. I toss aside the phone, annoyed she never told me, but glad she now took centre stage.
I rub away the sleep and look around my room. My missing books remind me of my coming departure. Evora's article wouldn't change much for my fate now. But I might as well send her a text. I sigh and pick up my phone.
While I wish you had given me a hint of your little ace, I appreciate you trying to clear my name. Thanks.

Then I switch off the device and head towards my closet to pack the array of clothes I had bought over the months. Looking over the dresses and shoes, I wonder what I should have done instead of going after my dad and Belinda, after these people, after Michael.

Lunch was brought up to me by Martha who chided me about skipping breakfast. But the dishes were left untouched on my desk. The reality of things hit me slowly. And the feelings were catching up, and with it my loss of appetite.
I did however read the note my dad sent saying they had to leave town for some work and that my school arrangements would be made soon. I knew though it was to avoid the bombardment of nosy reporters. So I read over the school brochure they had of the Switzerland Academy for Girls.
It wasn't impressive, merely another school with discipline and regulations that had to be taken seriously. I wonder if I could ask Rose's sister to give me a tour of the country. I chuckle sadistically just as the keys jingle on the other side of my locked door. Not that I wanted to go out anywhere anyway.
