This is definitely not how I planned this story to go but my friend had a lot of requests and I thought it would be pretty fun to challenge myself.

Chapters 5 and 6 are a little short but I definitely enjoyed writing them.

Hope you enjoy.

Open to requests and ideas for future chapters X

Both Astrid and Oakley were completely lost in each others eyes. Taking in every detail. Completely unaware that they were both being spoken to.

'It looks like the storm has settled down. We should all try to get some sleep.' Hiccup suggested.

Suddenly, the girls snapped back to reality.

'Uh... Yeah.' Oakley responded, praying to the gods that it was the right response, as she honestly hadn't listened to a word anyone had said for the past five minutes, finally looking away from her friends face and scanning the room.

'Great, You can stay with me... I made space for you in my hut.' Snotlout implied desperately.

'And I've made it clear to Snotlout, that you're not staying in his hut.' Hiccup said, slightly agitated at Snotlout, who growled in response.

Oakley sighed with relief and helped Astrid off the floor. She was still a little dazed and her legs, weak. Oakley threw her friends arm over her shoulder to hold her up. Astrid laid her opposite hand above Oakleys chest in order to support herself.

'Let's get you to bed.' Oakley suggested.

Astrid was too tired to respond, so just nodded in agreement.

As always, Oakley was up at the break of dawn, ready to start her morning workout. She felt completely refreshed, despite the events that happened the night before. She woke up full of energy, and after all why wouldn't she, she slept like a baby on the spare bed in Astrid's hut. The bed Heather must have used before they built her hut.

Oakley decided to workout alone this morning, allowing Astrid to get a few extra winks. She must have been exhausted.

She finished her workout, a little concerned about Astrid. She was usually up and ready for her early morning flight by now. Even Stormfly looked worried as she laid beside her riders bed, her wing still not looking so good.

Oakley decided not to wake her and went for a flight alone, knowing that Stormfly was in no shape to fly either. The flight was much shorter than usual, as she couldn't help but worry about her friend.
She soon arrived back at Astrids hut to find her slowly waking up, much later than usual.

'Morning, sleepy head.' She said quietly.

Astrid opened her eyes and slowly sat up, taking in her surroundings.

'How,... what?' She said sleepily, confused, as she knew where she was but didn't quite remember how she got there.

'You got caught in a storm and must've gotten struck by lightning.' Oakley explained. 'You were out cold.'

'I...' She stuttered. '...I remember.' She looked up at the girl who had saved her life, before quickly looking away. She was determined not to lose herself in those bright turquoise eyes again.
She removed her blanket and threw her legs over the bed before standing up. Oakley immediately ran to her side as she started to lose balance and caught her before she managed to topple over completely.
She lead Astrid back to her bed and sat her down.
'Maybe you should take it easy. I don't think it's a good idea for you or Stormfly to be going anywhere today.' Oakley suggested. Before closing her eyes to prepare for the punch she was sure was coming.

Instead, Astrid just nodded, reinforcing the belief that she was in no shape to be flying any missions today.

The two eventually made their way to the clubhouse for breakfast, to find everyone already tucking into Heathers delicious cooked breakfast. Oakleys hands guiding Astrids shoulders as she was still a little unbalanced.
Astrid slowly made her way to an empty seat to join the others, followed by Stormfly, while Oakley made her way over to StarGazer who was sitting by the door.

'Hey Oak... You should try these.' Hiccup suggested, gesturing to the Yak chop he held in his hand.

'No thanks.' She politely declined, as she continued to pet her dragon.

'What?!' Tuffnut gasped. 'You have no idea what you're missing.'

'Wait...' Hiccup said with a curious look on his face. 'Don't tell me you're still in your whole 'aversion to meat' phase.'

'Well, not that it matters...' She quickly responded. 'But yes.'

'Wow'

The riders continue to chatter while Oakley continues to fuss over her dragon in an attempt to make up for cutting their flight short, until something caught her eye.

'Hey guys...' she called out. 'Were we expecting company?' She asked gesturing out towards the three oncoming ships.

Hiccup quickly jumped out of his seat and grabbed his looking glass to see who was headed towards them.

'Dragon hunters.' He said after noticing the tribal crest on the ships sails. 'Everybody... to your dragons.'
Everyone quickly jumped up and headed for their dragons.

'Not you, Astrid.' Hiccup ordered. She looked up at him with an agitated look on her face. The other riders had already left the clubhouse.

'Hiccup, you need me. Admit it!'

'Astrid, he's right.' Oakley soon added.

'Not you too.' She huffed.

'Astrid... Your dragon can't fly.' She explained, mounting her own dragon.

'I can fly with you.' She said, walking towards StarGazer. She could be pretty stubborn when she wanted to be.

Oakley quickly raised her hand out to the side. She was trying so hard not to use her powers but she also knew that Astrid would not take no for an answer.

The air from her powers created a shield of sorts, preventing Astrid from getting any closer. Oakley and StarGazer took off.

'HEY!... SO NOT FAIR HADDOCK!' She shouted after her.

'We'll argue about it later!' Oakley replied before heading to join the other riders, allowing the shield to drop.

'Okay...' Hiccup started to explain the plan. 'Oak, Fishlegs, Ruff, Tuff take out the flanking ships. Snotlout and I will handle the main ship.'

Everyone nodded and preceded to do as Hiccup had asked.

After the two flanking ships had been sunk, everyone came together to help take out the main hunter ship.
Suddenly, Oakley halted mid air, when she noticed two large dragon root arrows headed straight for her brother.
'HICCUP!' She instinctively flung her arm in the opposite direction to the arrows, causing them to change course and head straight for the hunters that shot them, who jumped overboard in order to dodge the poisonous arrows.

She gasped as she realized the huge mistake she had just made.
