Ian sat leaning against the seat in his new black Mustang, his eyes closed from exhaustion. Lucy had taken the initiative and stole his old black Camaro. Even though the government is trying to track the car, Ian knew it was futile. Lucy had disappeared back off the grid and Ian was glad; if Lucy showed her face again, he’d probably murder her without getting the information out of her. The President and the VP were still missing, there were bombs in 28 states and Lucy was going to be planting more. Not to mention his family and the families of Brady and Lucas were still missing, as well as any other people Lucy had decided to kidnap. There was no bright side to any of these situations and the stress was starting to show around the First Division headquarters. Everyone was running around like they had lost their minds, and not that Ian blamed them. He had no idea where to start either. His phone went off and he opened his eyes as he glanced down at it. He had no desire to answer it, but he didn’t have a choice.

“What’s up Cody?” Ian said bitterly as he lifted his head.

“You are wanted back at headquarters, now. Both you and Brady.”

“What the hell for?” Ian grumbled as he looked out his window, staring into Brady’s house. Brady was still in sign searching for any type of clue he could find.

“They want you to hunt Lucy,” Cody answered and Ian immediately narrowed his eyes.

“I’ve had enough of that bitch,” Ian snapped. “The only thing I want to do is find my family.”

“Ian, you know you won’t find them without Lucy,” Cody whispered softly. “She’s playing you, and right now she’s winning. She was planning on keeping you and Brady off of the playing field.”

“So keep us off the field,” Ian muttered as he rubbed his head. “Cody, if I see her, I’m going to put several holes in that body of hers.”

“Ian, Hell’s Gate wants you in.” Ian straightened up and his anger vanished.

“What?”

“They want you in with members of their own. You and Brady are both wanted because they know you have worked with Lucy before and that she is also targeting you.”

“What’s the mission?” Ian asked as he tightened his hand into a fist.

“You are to capture Lucy and bring her back to the CIA headquarters,” Cody said. “There, she will be tortured until she gives up the information we need. Then she’ll be executed.”

“Where do we start? I’m not coming back to headquarters so just tell me where to meet them. I can’t stand seeing Lucas like that.”

“Meet them at the 7-Eleven when you first teamed up with Lucy. You’ll see them right away.”

“Thanks Cody,” Ian said and was about to hang up when Cody quickly spoke.

“Ian, Lucy knows what it’s like to lose a family,” Cody whispered and Ian froze. “I believe your family is still alive, as well as Brady’s and Lucas’. But Lucy may want to share the pain of loss. Don’t give her that option.”

“Do you know something, Cody?” Ian said coldly.

“She’s moving,” Cody said calmly and softly. Ian was silent as he listened, his insides shaking. “I got a tip from one of my men. She was seen as the Third Division building.” Ian hung up and honked the horn. Seconds later Brady came sprinting out and hopped into the car, slamming the door.
