Ian trudged back slowly to the hospital. Lucas had called him and demanded that he come there immediately. Ian couldn't believe the Lucy he just saw. She was carrying something bloody, that something Ian believed to be parts of Alexander and Bruce. He had a haunch that she would go there since they couldn't find her when they busted into the Third Divisions building. Ian left alone to try and find her and he did. Lucy was not Lucy; she was an entirely different person now. His hands were still shaking from the encounter. He had never been scared looking into the eyes of any murderer he had faced, but looking at Lucy was another story. He felt as if he was looking into the face of a devil. He looked up at the azure sky and he heaved a sigh. If he could've pulled the trigger, perhaps he would've saved them a whole lot of grief.
“I'm a coward,” he muttered as he opened the door to the hospital. He saw several BlackOp agents in there and he noticed Brady running over to him. He threw his arms around Ian and Ian was surprised at how scared he looked.
“Dude you're okay!” Brady exclaimed as he released Ian. “I turned around and you weren't there. I knew you had gone after Lucy and it scared me a bit.”
“She's not Lucy anymore,” Ian said sadly. “I'm not sure who she is.”
“Perhaps Lucas can tell us more,” Brady suggested as he pulled on Ian's arm. “There's something you have to see.” Ian followed Brady up the stairs and into a hallway. They stopped outside of a hospital room and Ian's eyes widened when he saw who was in the bed.
“Cody's alive?!” Ian said astonished and Brady smiled sadly.
“Barely,” he said. “Lucy shot him in the leg, shoulder and a bullet grazed his head. He hit something when he fell. Unfortunately the docs say that he's in a coma.”
“He’s in a coma from only hitting his head?” Ian asked.
“From the bullet and head injury to the shock of what Lucy did.” Ian turned around and saw Lucas walking towards them. Lucas crossed his arms. “We arrived just in time to save his life. He was losing a lot of blood.”
“What about Hunter?”
“A bullet through the head,” Brady answered sadly. “He was long gone.” Ian looked through the window at Cody. He has a mask over his face, and IVs were hooked up to his arms. Ian clenched his hands into fists.
“Do you know where Lucy is?” Lucas asked calmly and Ian turned to him.
“She was outside the interrogation building of the First Division when I caught up. I'm afraid Alexander and Bruce are dead.”
“It doesn't surprise me she would go there first,” Lucas grumbled. “Where is she headed?”
“I'm not sure,” Ian said. “She didn't say. All she said is that when she comes back, she'll be bringing the forces of Hell with her.”
“I believe her,” Lucas said nodding. Ian looked at their faces and they were like mirror images of his own. They were grieved, angry, confused and frustrated.
“When will Cody wake up?” Brady asked. Ian looked over at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Why?” Ian asked. Brady gave him a confident smile.
“Perhaps Lucy told him something that could give us a lead.”
“Then we would be a step ahead of her!” Ian said as he understood what Brady was getting at.
“Lucy would've thought of that,” Lucas warned. “Even if she thinks Cody is dead, she understands we can use Window to look. She'll have already come up with another plan by now.”
