Ian could feel Lucy’s eyes on them, but he couldn’t take his eyes off of his drink. The odor the drink was giving off was enough to make him feel nauseated. What kind of tea did she make? Ian thought as he wrinkled his nose.

“It smells of dead bodies,” Brady spoke up. Ian closed his eyes for a moment. He wouldn’t have addressed it so bluntly, but he couldn’t hide the fact that the tea did smell exactly like a rotting corpse. The mere thought made his stomach churn.

“It’s a new recipe I tried,” Lucy said with a cold smile. Ian glanced over to Crane and Demetri and his heart fell into his stomach at their expressions.

“Let me guess,” Crane asked, his eyes hardened with anger. “It has a human organ in it?”

“Oh so you’ve had this tea before?” Lucy asked in an amused tone. Ian stared disgusted at the teacup in front of him. Brady had to turn his head away. Lucy looked back over at Ian. “Aren’t you going to ask?”

“I don’t want to know whose organ you used,” Ian said. Lucy smiled.

“I’m sure you would like to know,” she said. Brady looked at her.

“What organs then?” Brady asked.

“The ingredients for your tea consist of blood, chopped liver, a section of a kidney, bone marrow, skin tissue and a vein from the heart. But, they are very unique. Each pot of tea has something in common with you.” Brady and Ian stared at Lucy with a horrified expression as she listed what was in the black liquid.

“Something in common with us?” Ian asked. Lucy examined her nails in a nonchalant attitude as she answered.

“Aren’t you going to ask where your fathers are?” The blood drained from Ian’s face as he made the connection. He stared at the tea in front of him as sorrow gripped his heart. “I don’t suppose I need to explain that one any further, do I?” Lucy asked and Ian lowered his head as his rage boiled over. Lucy stood up and walked over to the window. Brady stood up abruptly, his gun pointed at Lucy. She glanced over her shoulder at him, Brady’s eyes filled with tears and his body shaking from anger. “Honestly, Brady, what would shooting me now do?”

“It would stop all this,” Brady said. “You murderer.”

“People do call me that,” Lucy said as she turned back around. She smiled at Brady. “Kill me then. Let’s see how far you get.” Brady’s hand was shaking as they stared at each other. Ian slowly stood up and put his hand on Brady’s shoulder. Brady closed his eyes and lowered the weapon. “That’s what I thought,” Lucy said as she walked back over. “You boys have a story to hear, all four of you. After that, you can go.”

“You’ll be coming with us,” Demetri said, his voice tensed up. Lucy shook her head.

“I’ll get captured when I want to get captured,” she said. She gestured to the file. “Open it.” Ian and Brady sat back down and reached for the folder. They opened it and found horrendous pictures of a town burned to the ground, with corpses lining the streets. All of the pictures held death in them, some more gruesome than others. Ian passed the photos to Crane and Demetri, and watched their expressions as they looked at them.

“This is Wolf’s Creek,” Crane murmured.

“I thought you would recognize it,” Lucy said, her voice now cold. “That was the town you two were sent to. Your mission was to find the men, who wiped that town off of the face of the Earth, track them down and bring them to justice. Sounds like an easy job for two men with outstanding records such as yourselves.”
