First Year
9/1/19
"Lily! Hurry up! We're running late!" Ginny hollered upstairs to her daughter.

Lily kicked her trunk down the stairs and hopped down, pulling her left sock on. At the bottom of the stairs, she grabbed her shoes and hopped in the backseat of the car and the Potter family drove to Kings Cross as fast as they could.

When they got out of the car at Kings Cross, they rushed to get their things onto trolleys and get to platform 9 3/4 before 11:00 o'clock. Her brothers and mother went through before her and her father followed her. On the platform, Lily smiled as she quickly passed the great scarlet steam engine. After dumping her things on a pile, she hugged her parents quickly good-bye.

"I love you, mum. Love you, dad. See over the holidays."

And she got on the train. She waved out the window, smiling a huge smile, until the train was all the way out of the station. Then, she skipped down the corridor, looking for a place to sit. She found an almost empty compartment that was only occupied by her friends, Lorcan and Lysander. They were lost in their conversation to noticed Lily at the door.

"Lorcan, please put it back! You're bothering it!"

"Ly, come on! I'm just looking at it!"

"Put that bug back under the seat where you found!"

Lorcan narrowed his eyes at Lysander "I'm older than you, Ly!"

"By two min-" Lysander started.

"Hi, Lily!" Lorcan interrupted when he noticed their company.

Lily smiled and sat down with them "Hey, Lorcan. Hi, Lysander."

Lysander kicked his heels against his seat "Hi, Lily."

Lorcan looked at Lily "So, first year, huh? What house do you want?"

"I was thinking Gryffindor. Although, your ties look better."

Lysander chuckled slightly "Hufflepuff does that. Very modest, but the best."

"Well, now, I wouldn't say that!" James said from the door "I think Gryffindor looks the best."

"And that's why I said modest. Something Gryffindor's aren't known for."

Lily crossed her arms "My dad's modest!"

Lorcan laughed "Very modest; according to our mum, Hermione, and your mum!"

Lily laughed and watched Lysander's eyes dart from one side of the window to the other, watching things moving across the countryside.

Lily sat on the train again, going home for the holidays. Lorcan was sitting with his others friends, so she and Lysander were alone, having their own conversation.

"Lily, how did you like Hogwarts these first few months?"

Lily, who was untying her Gryffindor tie, looked up "It was great, but this tie is uncomfortable."

Lysander laughed and leaned forward, taking the tie from around her neck "Is it more comfortable when it's like this?" he proceeded to tie it around Lily's head.
