(this is completely different from the kids in Quiet in the Eve)
(what if Newt and Tina had a child who was blind)

Newt and Tina walked out of St. Mungo's; their newborn daughter in Tina's arms.

Elissa Lily Madeleine Scamander.

She was the couples pride and joy. They couldn't be happier with her.

Newt, Tina, and Elissa were all in the basement. Elissa was playing on the floor in one spot and Tina sat next to her. For a second, Tina walked barely two feet away with her back turned and Elissa dropped the ball she was playing with. She stood up and toddled in the direction she was facing, thinking that the ball rolled that way.
It was to her left.
She toddled into an enclosure she wasn't supposed to be in and she didn't know it. When Tina turned around, she had a mini heart attack as she ran over and picked her up.

Hugging Elissa close to her chest "Ellie! What were you doing in the Thestral pen?"

"Where? What's a Thestral? I wuzzunt anywhere." Elissa said.

Tina set Elissa down and crouched in front of her "What d'you mean you weren't anywhere? You had to have moved."

Elissa nodded, but she wasn't looking Tina in the eye. She was staring up at the ceiling.

Tina took a deep, shaky breath "Ellie, where am I?" she said, pointing to herself.

Elissa was silent for a second, before she held her hand up. But she felt through the air in front of her before she found Tina's hand; which was still extended in the air.

"Found you!" Elissa exclaimed, happily.

Tina forced a smile and hugged Elissa. She picked her up and said "Let's go upstairs, Ellie."

Elissa rested her small head on Tina's shoulder and Tina did her best to not cry.

Later that evening, Tina was putting Elissa to bed when Newt walked up to her.

"Why have you been so quiet tonight, Tina? Is everything alright?" he asked, a great amount of concern in his voice.

Tina looked into his kind eyes and started to tear up "No, Newt." she said, weakly. Newt wrapped his arms around Tina "I don't think Ellie can see."

Newt looked at Tina, then at Elissa's room. He stroked Tina's hair "We'll get through it, Tina. I know we will."

Six Years Later

Elissa sat up in bed and felt around for night stand. When she took hold of it, she stood up and felt through her room towards her dresser. She felt the clothing on top of it and pulled them on. Every morning, her mother laid out her outfit before she woke up. As she can't see, it's the safer alternative than having her pull on whatever she touches first.

Out in the hall, she heard her brother, Gillian, run down the stairs and she envied him. Elissa could not run down the stairs, as she could miss a step and fall on her face. So, she just sat there, envying him. After she'd pulled on her shirt, which took fifteen minutes just to find the tag, she made her way slowly to the hall and felt for the stair railing.

She knew she was near the bottom when she felt herself start to fall. Reaching out, her other hand found the stair railing and she gripped it with both hands as to keep herself upright.

Hearing her mother rushing toward "Mum, I'm fine. I'm fine."

Tina helped Elissa down the last step and Elissa felt her pushed a few stray strands of hair out of her face "Ellie, you scared me."

"I missed the last step. It's not like a fell off a building." she said as a joke.

She must not've been in the right to say that, because she heard her mother mutter under a breath "Which you could very much do." before she walked away.

Elissa didn't feel bad for her parents. She felt in the fault that she was blind. If she wasn't blind, her parents would have the perfect child and they wouldn't worry about her 24/7. Elissa swallowed her saliva and walked forward feeling about for the kitchen table.
