Scorpius x Rose

Rose sat in the library, unaware of the following event. Scorpius sat down next to her.

"Hey, Rosie." he whispered in her ear.

"Scorpius? Where were you at breakfast?" Rose asked.

"Albus decided to test his potions assignment on me and then couldn't reverse it."

Rose shook her head and chuckled "Classic Al."

Scorpius reached into his pocket "So, we're both seventh years and the year's almost over...."

"Yes?" Rose questioned.

"And, we've been dating for a year and a half...."

Rose closed her textbook and looked Scorpius in the eye "What are you saying, Scorpius?"

"Can I promise you?" he asked.

Rose looked down at his hand and choked. Clasped in his thumb and index finger was a ring.

"Scorpius, is that...?"

"A promise ring. Rose Anne Granger-Weasley, I want to marry when we leave school."

Rose smiled and hugged Scorpius around the neck. Scorpius hugged her back.

"Is that permission to give you the ring?"

Rose kissed Scorpius' cheek and nodded "You're my true love, Scorpius. Of course it is."

Scorpius smiled.

Rose rejoined the other Gryffindor girls in the common room extra cheery that evening.

"Well, Rose. You're chipper. Has it anything to do with Scorpius?" Lily asked.

Rose showed Lily the ring and she went berserk.

"Rose, is that a promise ring?! Did Scorpius Malfoy promise to marry you?!"

The common room went quiet. Rose smiled innocently at everyone, then looked at Lily.

"Keep you voice down, Lils. I don't want the news to spread to Hugo. He'll write to mum and dad. You know what my dad's like towards the Malfoy's."

Lily covered her mouth "Sorry, I can't help it."

Rose smiled. That night, she went to bed happy. She didn't realize tomorrow would be the ruining of her.

Rose entered the Great Hall with Scorpius, hand in hand. Hugo didn't think they would last past Hogwarts, so he doesn't bat an eye at them, but today he was staring at Rose as if scared for her life.

When the morning post arrived, a letter was dropped in front of Rose. When she opened it, her dad's voice bellowed from the page:

"ROSE ANNE GRANGER-WEASLEY,

WHAT WERE THINKING?! A MALFOY?! IN OUR FAMILY?! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE MALFOY'S WERE LIKE TO US?! NOT ON MY WATCH WILL YOU MARRY SOMEONE LIKE THAT!

IF YOU SO MUCH AS BRING HIM AN INCH INTO MY HOUSE, YOU'LL BE WITHOUT A HOME!"

The howler tore itself up in Rose's face. As the pieces landed in front of her, she felt tears burn her eyes. She ran out of the Great Hall as fast as the ended. Scorpius followed her. In the library, the couple was alone.

"Rose? Did you tell them?"

Rose broke into tears and shook her head, vigorously.

Scorpius wrapped his arms around her "Did Hugo?"

Rose blubbered into Scorpius' jumper "I don't know how he would've found out."

Scorpius rubbed Rose's shoulders as he soothed her.

"Well, however he found out, we'll look past it."

Rose looked at Scorpius with red eyes "How so?"

"Together."

Rose stood on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to Scorpius' lips. When they parted, she smiled and repeated:

"Together." she then added "Forever."
