I don't remember falling asleep but I guess I forced myself to sleep or a passed out. I wake up to Jake walking in the door.
The first thing I do is make sure my sleeve is rolled down, which it is. He lightly smiles and I sit up. I don't even try to smile back but he sits next to me.
"Hey," he says calmly and lightly pecks my cheek.
"Hey," I say back and lightly smile.
"Feeling any better?" he asks and I shrug, I know I'm not okay still. But, I'm afraid to bug him with my problems because he will leave too, just like my parents.
"I guess." I say back and he frowns a little.
"Can I help?" he asks and I shake my head. You could hold me. You could tell me it's going to be okay. You could say you're never going to leave. You could say that you love me.
"Not really." I say
"Tryouts are this week," he says, changing subject, and smiles.
"For what?" I ask and looks at me.
"Baseball," he says and I nod.
"You'll do good." I say and look at him.
"I hope so." he says quietly and puts his arm around me. I lean into his chest. I feel safe with him, it's hard to explain.
"I want to ask you something and you can't lie." he says and I look up at him."What?" I ask and he looks down at me.
"What's wrong?" he asks and I sigh.
"Nothing," I say back and he sits up a little more. I sit up too, not leaning on him anymore.
"I said don't lie. I know you're not alright." he says back and I look down, not answering.
"It's not the big of a deal." I say back and continue to look down.
"Jamie yes it is." he says and I look back up at him.
"Jake no it's not." I say back.
"Tell me." he says back and I start to get a little frustrated.
"No, okay? it doesn't matter." I say back and he shakes his head. It bugs me that he keeps prying.
"You're not okay and I want to know what happened," he says and I clench my fist.
"I said no!" I say back, not really shouting but more saying firmly.
"You are not shutting me out! I care about you and I hate to see you upset, and the worst part is you're acting happy!" he says loudly back. I sigh, not wanting him to know still, I just sit and I don't say anything. I look back down.
"I just don't want to okay? I don't want to fight." I say back and hold the end of my sleeve in my hand.
"I know," he says in a quieter voice back. I push my hair back with my hands. "Please?" he asks and I sigh.
"My mom called, told me that they left because of me." I say quietly and I look at him.
"Are you sure?" he asks and I nod.
"Positive." I say back and put the inside of my cheek. I feel his warm body lean into mine, he wraps both of his arms around my body and pulls me a little closer. "I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to be sorry for." he says gently and I put my arms around him. He rubs my back and I slowly pull away. He holds the sides of my face and kisses the top of my head. I look at him and he looks back. "I love you." he says quietly and I smile a little.
"You're stupid." I say back and I kiss him and he kisses back. He slowly pulls away and tugs on my lip a little when he does.
"Do you want me to stay here tonight?" he asks and I nod. I don't want to be a needy girlfriend or annoy him, but I would really like him here.
"If you want," I say back and he smiles.
"Okay," he says back.
"Did you eat anything today?" he asks and I shake my head."No, there isn't anything here to eat." I say back.
"Do you want to get something?" he asks and I nod.
It's really weird to me, being hungry and being willing to eat food without being forced.
He orders the pizza and we eat it. Not all of it but we put the rest away.
"What did I miss today?" I ask and sit next to him on the bed. He shrugs.
"I wasn't really paying attention..." he says and I yawn a little, knowing I haven't gotten much sleep. I'm emotionally drained.
"Tired?" he asks and I smile, nodding. He lays down and pulls me with him by grabbing my shoulders. I laugh and fall next to him. I turn toward him and he looks back.
"Thanks." I say quietly.
"For what?" he asks back.
"Not leaving, even though I'm pretty much insane." I say back and he shakes his head. I move closer to him and put my head in his chest. He puts his arm around me and rubs my back.
"I told you I wasn't going to leave and I didn't lie. Plus, you're not insane at all baby." he says calmly back and puts his head on mine.
"I love you." I say back and he kisses my head like he always does.
"I love you too." he says back and I close my eyes.
