(the picture is a 7 week ultra sound)

"We're going to be late," I say to Jake and he shakes his head.

"We are not," Jake says and I put on my shoes.

"Where are you guys going?" Gavin asks and sits on the couch next to Jake. Jake and his dad exchange a look and I shake my head.

"None of your business," Jake answers back.

We are going to the first appointment for the baby. We've only told Chris who wasn't exactly enthusiastic about it but he defiantly wasn't mad. He just told Jake that he would offer more work and pick up his pay just a little more. Since we have that, plus money with both have saved, I don't need to pick up a job.

"Come on," Gavin says back and all three of us shake our heads. Chris lightly hits Gavin in the back of the head as he walks by.

"Stop being so noise." Chris says and Gavin laughs a little.

"Okay fine." Gavin says and I stand up. "I don't get why you can't tell me." he says again and I sigh.

"We'll tell everyone when we get back, okay?" I say and Gavin nods, being satisfied.

"We are?" Jake asks and I shrug.

"Why not?" I ask and Jake nods.

"Okay," he says and stands up. I stand up too and fix myself a little.

"Ready?" I ask and he smiles.

"We aren't in a rush," Jake says back and I shrug.

"I don't care, come on," I say back and tbe nervousness fills inside me.

"I'm coming," he says and I grab his arm, almost tugging him out of the room. He laughs and waves to Gavin and Chris.

"Are you really that nervous?" he asks and I let go of him as we walk out of the door.

"I am," I say and he grabs my hand.

"Me too," he says and grips my hand. I take a deep breath and I look at him.

After the car ride there, waiting for a half hour nervously in the waiting room, and then waiting in the actual room where the doctor will see me, I can barely stand the anxious feeling.

The doctor finally walks in the door and she give us a warming smile.

"Jamie right?" she asks and I nod.

"Yeah," I say back and sit up a little.

"How are you?" she asks and I shrug.

"Fine I guess," I say and she smiles at us again.

"Well I'm Dr.Griffin," she says and I nod.

She sits in the chair that is in front of the computer looking thing and turns it on.

"Lift up your shirt a little for me," she says and I do. "This is going to be a little cold," she says and squeezes a gel on the left side of my stomach. I tense up a little and Jake smiles. I continue to hold his hand like I have been since we got out of the car.

She puts the 'scanner' on the section of my stomach were she put the gel. She moves it around a bit and we all take our attention to the screen. There is a constant thud and she looks back at us.

"That's the baby's heart beat," she says lightly and I look back at Jake. He looks back at me and smiles. I smile back and he lightly rubs his thumb across my hand. "You're about seven weeks along," she says and I squeeze his hand.

"Is everything okay?" I ask and she turns back to us.

"You're pretty healthy, I'm expecting everything to go well." she says back and I let a small sigh of relief escape my mouth.

"That's great." Jake says back.

"Here," she says and takes out a piece of paper from the machine. She hands it to us and it's a picture of the ultrasound. I let go of his hand and take it from her so I can hold it with both hands. I look at it and smile. I look back at him and he's looking over my shoulder. I roll down my shirt and sit up more.

It's a little hard to make out but I can tell. I hand it back to him and he smiles down at it.

"We can call you about your next appointment if you'd like," Dr. Griffin says and I nod.

"Could you?" I ask and she nods.
"Thank you," I say and she stands up, looking at us.

"You're welcome," she says back and we both nod at her. "I'll give you two a few minutes, come out whenever you two are ready, and you're good to go," she says and I smile at her. "And congratulations," she says and walks out.

I look back at him and I hug him. He hugs me back and slowly pull away. Jake looks at me and pecks my lips.

"This is really happening," he says quietly and I nod.

"I-I know," I say unsteadily back.

"Come on," he says and stands up, holding his hand out to help me up. I take his hand and he pulls me up. He doesn't let go of my hand and I hold his hand back.

"Let me see it," I ask and open the door. We walk out and he hands me the picture. I smile at it and he waves to the girl at the front desk who we talked to before. We walk out and I look up at him. He looks down at me and smiles.

"I love you," he says to me.

"I love you too," I say back and we get into the car.
