Lena's POV
I woke up at 08.30AM JP was sound asleep cuddled up to me. I look down at him my heart breaking for him.
We had a huge mountain in front of us to climb I knew what JP wanted what he felt he needed to do but selfishly I was worried it would affect the natural way we was meant to be together, our future. I brush those selfish thoughts from my head, I was once a child a in need as JP was and luckily people did not turn their backs on us.
My mind on Jodie, wondering how she was if she had adapted to her new temporary surroundings hoping she had ended up with a family like the Brookers as JP had. That poor little girl Christ only knows what she had been through.
I gently prise myself from JP and slip on my dressing gown and head out the annex to the main house. I catch my Auntie who was heading off to the supermarket to get some bits she said she wouldn't be long. My Uncle has already headed out to work he normally left at 06:00AM most days. I walk into the kitchen switching the kettle on and sighing out loudly everything running through my head I grab a cup and put in a teaspoon of coffee in pouring the hot water when the kettle had boiled.
I drink my black coffee and pull on my vape hard. I hardly used my vape these days but today I needed it, it was my crutch.
I look outside and it was pouring of rain, the wind was howling leaves being blown about and next doors fence was wobbling. I look at the window and watch the rain as it runs down the window once again my thoughts turn back to JP's sister. I start drinking my coffee when I hear a gently tap on the front door thinking it was my Auntie forgetting something knowing her it was a pound for the shopping trolley or shopping bags!
I look though the spyhole and just see the back of someone a slim blonde young girl. I open the open partially.
"Hello" I call out.
The person turns around and as soon as I clock her eyes.... the same as JP's.
"Jodie?" I call out.
"Is JP here please?" she replies not stepping forward.
It was freezing and the poor girl was soaked through.
"Yes come through" I reply opening the door wider.
I watch as she watches me cautiously, she wipes her feet as she enters in.
"Babe you look freezing do you want a towel and a hot drink" I offer.
"Um yeah please that would be nice" she replies.
"Sorry I'm Lena your brothers Fiancée, please come through" I say to her.
"I'm sorry to turn up uninvited but I had to see him, he is all I have left" she replies with sorrow in her voice.
"Oh darling, please don't think you are ever uninvited there is nothing more than JP wanting to meet you. It was social services that put a block to it. Listen do you want some dry clothes to change into and I can put your wet ones in the tumble dryer?" I ask.
"Thank you that's very kind of you" she replies dropping her eyes.
"Ok come upstairs with me, I'll get you something to wear you can change in the bathroom whilst I make you a drink....I'm guessing hot chocolate?" I say to her.
I see a small smile creep on her face .
"I'd like that" she replies.
"Come with me" I reply. I hold my hand out which she takes as I lead her up the stairs.
I give her some privacy to get changed. I head down to make her a warm milky hot chocolate. Jesus she shouldn't be here...had she run away from care? I needed to play this down, if social services turn up I will say she just arrived despite how ever long she is in our family home for, lets see how good they are at their job.
