JP's POV
Four weeks had passed and Jodie was staying in the care of my Mum and Dad. Before Jodie had left that day with Lena's help we managed to get the DNA sample we needed. We had her hair that was on Lena's top that Jodie had worn that had naturally fallen and the clean toothbrush Lena gave Jodie when she has used it in the bathroom to freshen up.
I had paid a private clinic an eye watering sum for the test and within two weeks of me sending it off it had come back and the results was 99.9% conclusive that we was full siblings. My thoughts turned to my father if he was on the scene thirteen years ago to father Jodie was he still on the scene now?
I didn't care and the police didn't care they had no leads to go on, they still claimed it was a heroin overdose but I had seen how beaten Leanne was this was for Jodie she needed some justice for her Mum. With the proof that me and Jodie was full siblings the police still disregarded it couldn't be bother to trace the coming and goings of the flat that Leanne lived in. Jodie had seen the state her Mother was in she had tried to resuscitate her for 20 minutes before the ambulance arrived. I had no clue who our Father was and our birth certificates both had father unknown at the time of registration. Leanne was not married so we had both been given her surname.
Jodie was doing well, really well she loved it at my Mum and Dads to the extent that my thoughts turned to her staying there permanently she had everything she needed with them more then me and Lena could provide she was in the safe hands of the Brookers with pure stability and love. Myself and Lena popped over most nights and Jodie came and stayed with us most weekends. She had meet the whole family who all adored her Chantelle and Sophia had both showered her with new clothes and trainers spoiling her rotten, Zane had started to teach her kick boxing with Lena. Tanya and Jimmy just accepted her always making an additional Sunday dinner for her in case we had her that weekend they never asked just assumed. And Dan, serious Dan told her the importance of knuckling down at school and to aspire to go Uni. The kids loved her and called her Auntie Jodie knowing she was Uncle JP's sister they didn't really understand and it was proper cute and accepting of them. Jodie was finally content. She too had started Marlsborough High and was doing so well.
The last four week had taken it's toll on me and Dan and Zane had ordered to meet me for drinks on Friday night. Lena was at our house and had Jodie staying over for a girlie night in, popcorn, face packs and chick flicks I loved how Lena was Jodie together. I didn't plan on late one.
I meet Dan Zane in the pub around 20.30PM we had already had a couple of rounds but nothing heavy, it was a dark and wintery night and to be honest I wanted to be at home in bed with Lena.
My mobile rang and it was Lena she would never ring when I was on a night out she wasn't needy but something must be up I answer straight away.
"Alright babe"
"JP something weird just happened" she said sounding worried.
"What is it Le" I reply alarmed and Dan and Zane both look up concerned expressions both on their faces.
"Some bloke just knocked on the door, I didn't open the door but checked on the CCTV, middle aged man in a suit. I spoke to him via the intercom and he said that the interior lights on your Ranger Rover was on but I thought they went off automatically?" she states and continues
"I told him thanks and not to worry and I'm sure it was nothing to worry about but he was quite insistent he finally left when I said I would call the AA".
"Babe stay put make sure all the windows and doors are shut and locked I'm coming home and call the police ok" I reply.
Dan and Zane already on their feet.
