JP'S POV
So six weeks ago Lena said yes to my marriage proposal everything was going better then planned. We didn't want a long engagement but we had set the date the things we needed to do together was booked. The church and the wedding reception was all sorted and the rest I was leaving up to Lena whatever she wanted she could have we was literally getting married in 14 months time.
We had managed to get our house and we had moved in two weeks ago. The place just needed updating and everyone was very hands on we was so blessed with our families. My parents had paid for a new bath suite for us as the person that lived there before was elderly and the bathroom needed ripping out. Lena's family knew people that done things at trade cost for us a new kitchen, wooden flooring and carpet we was so lucky and fortunate.
Dan and Zane helped me decorate whilst Jimmy and Tanya paid for the garden to be done as it was all overgrown. The garden was still ongoing but it was going to look the nuts when it was completed.
Everyone was heading to Jimmy and Tanya's for one of Tanya's famous Sunday lamb roast dinners. Dan, Chantelle, Charlie, Gracie, Rubie, Zane, Sophia and Carlton would all be there it was another ritual of the Chandler family to have a Sunday dinner together once a month. It was always such a good crack catching up with everyone and spending time with the kids.
As we pull up to the Chandlers house we see a police squad car outside.
"FUCK" Lena says literally running out of the car as soon as I have pulled up.
I lock the car up and head towards the house wondering what's going down. I see Zane and Lena waiting at the door for me.
"What's up?" I say concerned.
"Old Bill are here to see you JP....they won't say why they only stayed cos Charlie accidently let slip you was on your way over anything you need to tell me?" Zane asks.
"Nah mate got no idea" I reply confused.
"Give me the nod if you need a brief yeah" Zane says concerned.
"Listen Zane I got no idea what they want with me" I reply.
I head in to the front room with Zane and Lena behind me, everyone is in the front room and there is an awkward silence when I am in there.
"Dan, Zane stay here with JP and Lena everyone else out let me know if you need me" Jimmy says and everyone gets up and leaves instantly on Jimmy's order.
I see Dan looking at me he looked intense.
"Mr Jon- Paul Brooker?" The police officer asked me.
"Yeah" I replied.
"Um do you want some privacy we have a very sensitive matter we need to discuss with you" The police officer replied.
I look stunned.
"No this is my Fiancée and our family and you can say what ever you need to say in front of them what's this all about?" I ask.
"My name is PC Holdsworth and this is Julia Washington Social Worker from the Child's Protection Team" he replies and points to the lady next to him.
I feel my eyes widen along with everyone else's...... Social Worker.....Child Protection Team? What the actual fuck.
"Mr Brooker I am aware that you are adopted can you confirm your birth name please" the PC asks me.
I see Dan and Zane look at each other they never knew. Lena had never told them. I look at Lena and she grabs my hand supporting me.
"Um Jon-Paul Farley - why? What's this about and why the fuck have you got child protection here? I was fucking 10 years old when I went into care - where was the child protection team when I needed them huh....stepped in to late...only took for me to be throw out of a window and be in intensive care for three days before they intervened" I literally spat at them both.
