Your POV

"I don't know... none of these are really speaking to me," I say, running my finger down the next page of baby names. "Do you really want our daughter to have a baby name from a book?" I look up at Timothée.

"I don't know, I thought buying a ton would just give us some ideas," he responds.

We're sitting in bed, and we've been pouring over book after book of baby names for a few hours now. We found out a few days ago that we're having a girl - not that it really matters too much, but it's very exciting and it makes it seem that much more real. In just five months we're going to have a tiny daughter. We just need to figure out her name.

"Look, here's a French one!" he says, grabbing the next book. "See, it's all French names." He flips it open and starts looking at all of them.

"I think I want to go with some sort of name theme. If we have more kids, I mean," I tell him.

"Like what?"

"I don't know. I'd just want them all to match somehow. Like, Hazel, and Fern, and Olive," I say.

"You want to name our children after the color green?" he asks with a small smirk.

"Not exactly the color green, that was just an example," I say defensively.

"I just don't want to be another celebrity who names their kid Storm or Rainbow or something," he says. "That's why I got all these name books."

I open my phone and Google nature-themed baby names.

"So, let me get this straight. You're saying you don't want to name our kid Dolphin? Or Galaxy?" I ask, staring at the list of names that comes up.

He looks over at me.

"Definitely not," he says. He continues looking at the French baby names, biting his lip and subconsciously tapping his fingers on the edge of the book.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask.

"Huh?" He looks up at me.

"You always bite your lip when you're worried about something. What is it?"

He hesitates, glancing away before answering.

"Well... I was wondering if - and you can say no - but I was wondering if we could have her middle name be after my mom," he says.

I grin.

"Yes! Of course. Nicole is a beautiful middle name, and it means something," I say. A look of relief washes over his features.

"Awesome. Yes - this is amazing! We have her middle name!" he exclaims, throwing his arms in the air. I smile and sit closer to him, leaning my head against his shoulder. We pour over the French baby names together, pointing out ones we like.

"What about... (your fav baby name!)," Timmy says, pointing to it on the page.

"I actually really, really like that," I tell him. "(Name) Nicole Chalamet. Wow. That's beautiful."

"I think so too. Did we just find our daughter's name?" he asks.

"I'm pretty sure we did."

All night we refer to her as her new name, and it makes it all the more real that soon, we'll have a daughter.

what are your favorite baby names? I love thinking about these kinds of things haha. I honestly love Hazel, but it's out there and I feel like it's something I'll grow out of lol. I've also always loved Carmen - I don't know why. I have a whole list in my phone :) I hope you're doing well. I love and appreciate all of you. I know I'm a broken record, but writing these is keeping me going, so thank you for reading. <3 also I'm so busy with school rn. I have all of my hard classes and I'm sort of dying. so I might not be posting as much, but I swear I won't stop and if I ever do I'll let you know :)
