Road Trip!

3rd person POV

Isabelle hustles to your house, dashing past the villagers. "Agh! I can't believe I forgot!" She knocks on the door aggressively. You open the door. "Oh hey, Isabelle!" You smile at her. 

"Ms. Y/n! I completely forgot to visit you the other day! I was so busy I didn't have time! I heard that Mr. Nook is getting better! Digby told me everything!!!" Isabelle shakes her hand hysterically. "Woah Woah, Isabelle, we're ok. Seriously, it's alright. Come in" You open the door for her. She peeks through the doorway and sees Nook and the nooklings peacefully enjoying breakfast.

"Oh good morning Isabelle! How are you this fine day?" Nook greets her, the nooklings wave at her playfully as well. "Oh- Mr. Nook you've recovered?" she enters the house. "Yes, yes. I'm quite surprised at how quickly I managed to heal." Nook nods. 

"Please take a seat, Isabelle." You pull out a chair for her. "Oh! I- Um. Thank you!" Isabelle sits, surprised by such sudden news. "So-... You are all better now? Does that mean you will be returning to work Mr. Nook?" she eyes him closely. 

"Well, actually Nook and I decided to take a day off today." You explain. "Oh yes, yes. I just thought it would be nice to take Y/n to see the sights for the day." Nook agrees. Isabelle looks at both of you in surprise "W-what!? The day off? But Mayor - Who will take care of the town while you are away?" She panics. "Oh don't worry Isabelle, the town is perfectly fine without me. It's only going to be for a day after all." You shrug. "Well-a-alright then..." She kicks the floor a little.
"What's wrong Isabelle?" You worry.

"I was just hoping to speak with you about a certain... matter...In private..." She stands up from her seat. "Oh- yeah, sure of course." You shrug in confusion and walk with her to the corner of the room. "So what's up Isabelle-"  

"I don't know if this is true but- er... Um... Lyle and the others told me they came to inspect your house at 3 in the morning... And-..." Isabelle looks at you concerned. 

You freeze remembering that night. "Isabelle, it's not what you think-!" You gestured in distress. "Ms. Y/n... I have a feeling you and Mr. Nook might be little more than just good friends-..." Isabelle admits. You try to explain but she stops you. "And I completely love the idea of both of you being together! And yes, the HHA caught the both of you cuddling when they came to inspect. They couldn't stop giggling about it!..." she chuckles. You laugh nervously. "But... There's something I forgot to tell you... " Isabelle stops, you start to get a little uneasy... Her tone shifts seriously. "In the law of T/n, it is stated that a Mayor cannot have a relationship with a villager or anyone inside the town. Especially the shop district owners! If any of the town counselors find out, you might be revoked from your duty as mayor." She frowns worriedly.

 "What!? How come nobody has told me about this?" You stress. "I'm the only one who knows since I'm the only one in town with access to T/n's law book. But please just be careful Ms. Y/n, I love you as mayor and I don't want you to leave T/n." Isabelle pleads. "Don't worry Isabelle, we'll be careful." You shake your head in reassurance. She smiles anxiously. "Alright then. Well, I must be leaving now. Thank you for having me." Isabelle thanked you. "No problem." You closed the door behind her as she left. 

"May I ask what you and Isabelle were discussing, Ms. Y/n?"  Nook questions as he picks up the dirty dishes from the table. "Oh er-..." You hesitate. 

"Where did you say we are going today?" Timmy interrupted. "We are going to drive home, but Ms. Y/n wants to see the sights," Nook responds. "Ooh! That sounds like loads of fun!" Timmy cheers. "Yes, yes it will." Nook nods. "Anyway- Please continue Ms. Y/n..." 

"Er-... It's nothing..." You shake your head. 

Nook raises an eyebrow. "Is that so?" he tilts h+is head. "Mmhm..." You mumble. "Well-... Alright then... Just know you can tell me anything Ms. Y/n." He assures. You nod feeling a bit guilty about lying. 

"So are we going already?" Tommy jumps up in his chair. "Oh yes, yes. whenever Ms. y/n is ready of course." Nook looks over at you. "I'll just get dressed. I'll be ready in a second." You say and walk upstairs. 

Y/n's POV 

"Revoked?... I don't want to lose my job as mayor... 

but... Tom Nook... " 

I sighed and looked through my closet. I found a plaid green romper. "This one is nice I guess..." I put it on and proceeded downstairs. But the thought never left my mind...

What if I lose my job? What if Nook loses his job? What if-.... 

"Ms. Y/n! You look spectacular!" Nook babbles. "O-Oh! Thank you!" I blush bashfully. "Oh, I speak too much don't I-" He covered his mouth. "Oh, not at all! I appreciate the compliments you know." I scratched his head lovingly. His ears fell back sheepishly. 

"Awe common already!" Timmy pulls him by the arm. 

"Yeah! Stop flirting!" Tommy pulls my arm. 

We blushed at each other and continued out to the train station.

3rd POV

The four of you walk onto the cobblestone platform of the train station. Timmy hops over to Porter the ticket holder. "Eek, eek! The nooklings and Mr. Nook! And er- The mayor?" Porter looked a bit confused. "Ah yes, the mayor will be traveling with us today." Nook replies. "Oh, I see! Four tickets to Nook's residency then." Porter hands each one of you a ticket. 

The train arrived just in time. You, Nook, and the nooklings all hop onto the train and take a seat in the back. It was mostly empty, except for that one blue and white cat in the front. You recognized him... 

But anyway- You sat next to the window, beside Nook. Timmy and Tommy sat in their seats in front of you. 

"So, is your house far from here?" You question and look out the window. The train started to move. "Oh just a little bit, not too far," Nook responded. "You three ride the train to work every day?" You wondered. 

"Yes, yes. I sometimes drive but that's too much of a hassle you see... The traffic is so terrible!" 

"That sounds horrible... I don't usually get out too much, I mostly just visit friends." You shrug. "But this will be a good time to get out of town a little more. You don't live in a town, do you?" 

"No, no. We live on a reserved piece of land. It's mostly just pine trees." Nook explains. "We stopped living in the city for a while." He continued. 

"I can't wait to see it!" You bounce in your seat excitedly. 

Resting your head on the window you see as you leave town and pass the multiple houses. Soon you weren't in T/N anymore. The train tracks led to a vast field of tall grass, you've never seen this part before... You press your face on the glass.
