3rd person POV

You sigh and get up from the bed. This morning felt strange... The nooklings weren't beside you, and neither was Nook... The house was lonely...

The clock ticks as you get dressed. You open your drawer to find the picture the Nookling's drew for you. A wide grin spreads across your face as you flatten it out and place it in a picture frame next to your bed. "Maybe I should pay them a visit..." You mutter to yourself.

As soon as you open the front door, a burst of color blinds you! "What the-!" You rub your eyes and stare in shock.

It seems someone planted a large number of tulips in front of your house. The tulips are fairly organized to create a narrow dirt path for you to walk through.  You slap your hands across your mouth.

Y/n's POV

This is-.... Beautiful!

But... I don't remember planting these last night? Who could have done this?...

I turned to my mailbox and went through the mail. "Wow, only one letter?" I took a pink-colored envelope out of the box, it didn't seem to be signed by anyone in town... Rather it read: Tom Nook in cursive letters. I blush and open the envelope...

"My beloved Ms. Y/n

Yesterday was a thrill! You have made my heart ever so content!

I acknowledge that you are the mayor, so I will try my hardest to contain myself from spilling our secret. Thank you ever so much for that pleasant evening.

I have a very difficult time expressing this to you as a cause of my foolish shyness, so I shall write this from the depths of my fondness;

I treasure your love like a delicate flower, for your radiance shines brighter than the stars! You heat up my face warmer than the sun ever could and the way butterflies flutter when you are around leaves me ever so numb.

Oh, Ms. Y/n, must you always be so charming? Just the sight of you leaves my heart restless.

I hope this letter finds you well, and that you enjoy the array of blossoms I have planted in your yard. I do apologize if it's a bit much... But yesterday you made me feel so lightheaded, I wanted to return the favor.

-Yours truly, Thomas Nook."

He can be poetic at times, I thought as I smiled at his detailed letter. I can't believe he spent all morning planting all these flowers-...

"I have to do something for him in return! But what? I'm no poet, that's for sure..." I ponder. "Aha!" I rushed back into my house and started to put together a warm meal.

3rd person POV

In the meantime, Nook and Lyle arrived at work. Nook unlocks the shop's door as Lyle creeps up from behind. "So your leg is feeling better now, Boss?" Lyle crosses his arms.

"Yes, Indeed I am!" Nook shakes his head happily. Both enter the shop and get situated. Lyle seems a bit skeptical. "Is that so? Did it heal today or...-" Lyle sits at his desk. Nook nods, "No, no. It healed yesterday. But I am nice and fine now!" Nook explains. Lyle raised a brow."You did not attend work yesterday..." he leans back. "Em-... No, I did not. Ms. Y/n and I went on a little trip." Nook shrugs hesitantly.  "Little trip?" Lyle sneers. Nook frowns. "Let's get back to work now Mr. Lyle-..."
