3rd person POV

Isabelle sits in her office and taps her pencil on the desk. "Ok so... For the public works project, we will have to invest approximately 300,000 bells. Now if we add up the cost of the materials needed and-... Oh gosh, I lost count again." She drops the pencil and facepalms. Laying her head down onto her arm, she sighs.

The arched window next to her desk is hazy with snow. It all looks like a blur from the inside. She rubs her head and begins to count again. The noise of the gushing wind blows by her window, making the frames burst open. "Dear me!" She hurries and closes the window. As she sits back down in her seat, the door from the town hall opens. It's Digby, he held a cup of coffee in his hand. "Hey, sis! How's work?" he says as he places the cup next to her.

"It's a little slow but I'll manage..." She nods and begins to write down some numbers. Digby pushes the cup of coffee closer to her. "I got this for you!" He wags his tail.

"Mmhm, just put it there..." Isabelle mumbles.

Digby taps his fingers on her desk, "Hey um- The crew is going to hang out after work. we were hoping you could come!" He smiles.

"I'm sorry I can't... I have to finish this." She nods.

Digby scratches the back of his head, "Common sis, don't you think you've been working a little too hard? I mean you are here all day..."

"Of course not, I love my job! Besides, the mayor needs me." Isabelle frowns.

"Psh, really? We both know Y/n can handle things herself. Loosen up a bit Isa!" Digby rolls his eyes.

"No! The mayor needs me! That's why I am her assistant!" Isabelle slams her hand on the table causing the coffee to spill on her work. She gasps.

Digby backs away a little, "I- I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you... I just thought maybe if you would take a break-"

Isabelle looks down, "No thanks... Now please just let me do my job."

Digby sadly exits the town hall and returns to his job. "Why so down Digby?" Lottie tilts her head.

"It's my sister, she is acting strange. I wonder if she even wants me around anymore..." he lets out a long sigh. Lottie puts her paw on his shoulder, "I'm sure she'll come around."

"She just worries me... Isabelle works long hours and never takes a break. I wish she would spend some time with me, like the good old days..." Digby takes off his raincoat. Nook, who was standing just a small distance from them, joins the conversation, "Is that so? Maybe I can ask Ms. Y/n to give her a break for a while..."

"Oh please! That would be such a great idea! We could finally have some 'sibling bonding' time!" Digby jumps out of his seat happily.

"Ho ho- I'm sure you will. I'll ask her now." Nook shakes his head.

Meanwhile, back in the town hall, Isabelle taps her finger on her chin. Finally finishing up one page and then moving to another.

PAH! The door slams open.

Isabelle falls out of her seat as you burst through the door. "Isabelle!" You cheer.

"M-Mayor!?" Isabelle quickly stands up.

You rush over to her, wearing a thick jacket and snow boots. "Guess who's on break!?"

"Um..." She raises an eyebrow.

"You, Isabelle!" You exclaim in jazz hands.

"W-what!? No, no. Ms. Y/n there is no need to-" She stammers.
